My grandma had a 1990's Speed Queen washer. It had a black control panel. She now has these new Bosch front loaders. She made a mistake. Anyways, I tried looking hers up and they all have different fabric softener dispensers?

Here is a picture of what her washer looked like

identical speed queen on craigslist

Hello. This is my first post. I was intrigued by this site after acquiring a modern washer. My old Maytag A105 still runs. The new Maytag washer isn't built with the same type of quality. I just wanted to notify you of a Speed Queen identical to the one on this thread is on craigslist. $60.00. I've been reading good things about the Speed Queen and I thought it was worthy to post. This was the only thread where I could find this washer.

We had a Speed queen almost identical to the one pictured- albeit a bit more basic, ours ws a single speed without the soak/prewash cycle, and ours only had 3 temperature settings- hot, warm, and cold. It lasted 12 years of heavy use and abuse, and 3 moves. It was still running when we sold it in 2006 (Big mistake!) Ours had the straight vane agitator with the fabric softener dispenser in the first picture, which was removable and was eventually lost.

Our '97 Raytheon Amana had the FS dispenser shown in reply #2, the same type SQ uses today.

I presume that by the time Raytheon was putting the Amana badge on their machines, both SQs and Amanas began sharing the same agitator and FS scheme.

Strange how some people have offered testimonials to the longevity of Raytheon machines, presumably without any service issues.  That was far from the case with our belt-eating, poor-rinsing Amana.

concerning the second machine that was added to this post, took a look at the cl listing for the machine and the money shot of that washer has a long metal rod sitting inside the tub.

What in the world is that there for I wonder? Is that a busted suspension rod to the machine? If so, that isn't a good sign.

any SQ ever made never used a suspension rod....but in this case we can speculate it looks like one of the rods for the rear self leveling leg setup

when it somes to CL sellers, anything is possible....nothing can suprise me anymore, it could be full of trash, or even totally covered, and yet they still take a pic and try to sell it....makes you wonder where their head is...
