HI friends, the Speed Queen wringer washer is up and running again. I was using it last week and had the pump running to empty the tub. It was doing well and all of a sudden stopped pumping even though the control was set to drain. Now what do I do with this? I am sure that it is more difficult to get Speed Queen parts than the Maytag wringer machines.
Are there any adjustments etc. that must be done? Thanks in advance. Gary

IIRC you've had issues with pump on your SQ wringer washer previously.

It does seem as if pump was weak spot for these machines and sadly parts NOS or otherwise tend to be rare as hen's teeth.

The vulcanized rubber pump rotor is slipping on the shaft, you might be able to epoxy it in place or fashion a new out out of plastic, these pumps were so low efficiency and slow even when working that as long as it was vaguely the same shape it would work enough.

You just need to take the pump apart and see what's wrong with it. It might be seizing up. It might be a loose impeller.

Most times if you're a little bit creative, you can fix these pumps, but it certainly would be worth considering just putting an electric pump on the machine, I would use the pump from a later GE top loading washer they're pretty adaptable.

Did any American speed queen wringers use pit man transmission with a Horizontal power input shaft? ( or Macgraw Edison Canadians I should ask because there are other similar machines like the simplicity made in the same plant ).

I don't see a lot of similarity between the two so I wonder is there something I am missing.
Are they unique to each market or is the Canadian an old archaic model that was never updated?
