I read on an appliance website today that the new Frigidaire top loaders have an increased spin speed of 820 rpms....second fastest agitator washer out there. F&P being the best at 1000 rpms.

spin speed

Wouldn't it be nice if Frigidaire brought back the RapiDry 1000??? I think it was actually 1140rpm....took a load of towels only 25 minutes to dry.

The Frigidaire Unimatic washers (1949-1959) spun at 1140 rpms. The high-end Rapidry 1000 Rollermatic models of the 1960s spun at 1000 rpms. I have heard that the platic tubs cannot stand up to very high spin speeds. And these new Frigidaire do have Titan (palstic) tubs. I think that GE has a 1000 rpm, or close to it, top-load Energy Star agitator model with a stainless tub. So the new Frigidaires are third for fast spin. I bet with governmental energy standards we will be seeing many top loaders raising spin speeds. Yay!

golittlesport--- do you remember where you read about the new line of Frigidaire top-loaders? I checked their website and appliance.com and didn't see anything at either place. Would like to read up on this development. Thanks!
