Hey Gang,

I need some advice on a Dual 80 I stumbled upon today while enjoying my mini-vacation! The vac shop has this beaut tagged for 50 dollars, and appears to have low miles. Now, the bearings on my Dual 50 are getting a bit noisy, and will need a rebuild soon, so I thought this would make a nice vac to use while the Dual 50 would be in service. The bag looks wonderful and appears to be in great shape. I gave it a quick test drive and found that it works just as well as the Dual 50. Now, I don't plan on starting a Kirby collection, but since I saw Terry's Dual 80 from Omaha, I've always wanted one. So, what do you think?

BTW - this shop is starting to get rid of their old parts stock. I don't know a thing about vacs since my priorities are Firebirds and Washers, but I will see what the old guy has in the basement and keep you guys posted. Sounds like it is mostly headed to the dumpster.

I'd grab it for $50 if it's in good shape. It's always nice to find vintage vacs for less but then you might not find one of these again. BTW I paid slightly more for my Dual 80 from a vac shop but it had just been overhauled and the vacs owner couldn't afford the bill and left it. And like most Kirbys you'll probably never recoup your money except from maybe another collector because you can barely give them away.
