I would keep my eyes open. If that house is for sale, I bet the new owners will ditch that dryer for a new one. Maybe you can work a deal....
Set could be spoken for by family member. This or maybe person or persons running estate sale did a deal with someone locally who expressed interest.
Way to find things nowadays (if not always) has been to have connections. And people who do estate sales or otherwise deal with disposing of various items often are on many people's retainer list.
Keep in mind as one keeps repeating, not everyone shares our hobby. People see vintage appliances in good condition for what they are; something that can be put to good use. More so nowadays when so much bought new is rubbish. People are watching YT videos and picking up the scent.
Otherwise have often found people doing estate sales always keen to make money. Usually they don't have a clue about "old appliances" and just want to clear things out. So if you make a decent offer and are ready to close deal right there, usually items are yours for taking. Looks like a nice set and in good condition externally
Has the same panels and graphics as our 1973 pair. These had a lame Straight-8 activator with very prominent vertical fins and meager horizontal ones. The dryer was flawless and fast. I would buy this set if it comes available and switch the activator to one of the later spiral white ones with corresponding mini basket if possible.
What I really liked about our 1973 washer was that it had a dispensing system like the Lady Kenmores in that you could load the Pre-Wash, Main-wash, Bleach and FS Dispensers and then run a cycle with Pre-wash and Extra rinse without coming back to the machine.
