Don't know about the ironers, but the Hamilton Beach model K mixer is a good one. It's very similar to my Sears CounterCraft, and is from the 70's - 80's. I bought mine as a Christmas gift for my Mom around '82 or so. This was the heavy-duty model, as HB also had a cheaper plastic body stand mixer that didn't hold up real well.
As for that HB drink mixer, that's a recent "household use only" copy of their famous malt machine. Probably wouldn't last 2 days in a diner. I saw one in a store, and thought why would Hamilton Beach stoop so low? Like you said, all plastic. Wouldn't take much to knock it over. If I get a malt machine, it will be either a vintage one, or a modern HB commercial model which are much better made.
