Hey Everyone, I have a 1984 SQ HG7009L dryer that just stopped heating up. I dried a few loads this past Monday and it worked fine. My roommate just did a couple loads of wash and he told me the unit does not heat up. He took off the trap door to access the heating element. He ran the dryer and the starter lit up but the gas would not fire up. The gas line is good - two other dryers are connected up to this line with their own shut off valves. Since this unit is 26 years old, the dryer doesn't owe us a dime. It is one of the Raytheon models and the dryer cabinet is still in great shape, same with the control panel. The drum has a bit of flaking going on from years of use. My question is do you think this is worth repairing or just go out and purchase a new one? I'm leaning towards getting a new one. Any suggestions would be appreciative. Thanks! - Mike L.
