vintage hotpoint, in stainless

The guy I'm dating, and I were out looking at some thrift stores and going to a couple yard sales today. We stopped by this one yard sale that had an old hotpoint wall oven and 2 seperate cook top stoves all in stainless. The one cook top stove has two burners, where as the other one has one burner and a broiler with the original lid still with it. $4.00 later we had it loaded up in the back of his car. :) As soon as I get pictures of them, I"ll post them in another thread. Also since we are on the subject of stainless, the guy I'm dating also has an all stainless steel car. I'm courious if anyone can guess who made a stainless steel car. I'll post what it is tomorrow. :)

I don't mind one or two SS appliances-but a whole kitchen of thgem and SS kitchen furniture leaves me cold-too much like a hospital lab or an autopsy lab.At one of the mower dealers here they had an all SS "Dixie Chopper" riding mower-yours for $18,000.Even had two 25hp motors.Guess to go with those all SS kitchens! The SS is great for cooking and food prepartion items.

The only stainless steel cars I recall were the De Loreans.

My partner uses stainless "wipes" on our fridge that leave a bit of an oil coating but they seem to do OK and I agree with Rich that a layer of oil helps to keep things like fingerprints from inflicting permanent damage. This time of year, the sun starts shining through one of the kitchen windows in the late afternoon and evening and hits the fridge. You can really see what a nice job the wipes do when that happens.

Also, I've never used any cleansers of any kind on my porcelain kitchen sink either. Soft Scrub is as far as I go, and the sink has retained a nice finish for over 17 years, whereas the original bath tub that's 50 years old has been scrubbed to death with harsh and gritty powders and couldn't be any duller or have a more rough feel to it.
