Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I knew I saw these somewhere!! A similar item was in those mail-order "Home Improvement" catalogs back in the mid-1990's, IIRC. OY...

Detergent, at least for me,

is not the biggest expense of laundry! Water and energy are.

P.T. Barnum was right.

I doubt if these work any better than the ones from the last time around.

You remember those cleaning discs too, huh? I think the last set of those I saw was about 10 years ago when some consumer magazine tested them. I think it was Consumer Reports. Of course the results were on the last page, where they post all kind of advertising gimmicks. They found that they did absolutely nothing!

So you toss the Laundry Lump in with your dirty clothes, and "Wow!, look at all the suds!"

(Which we here know are the suds from the detergent left over in your fabrics that didn't all come out in the rinse cycle.)

And after the last of the detergent has been washed & rinsed away in a few more such cycles, water, by itself, does have some cleaning ability.

Months later, when the cleaning ability of water alone can't overcome the buildup of daily gray:

"Gee whiz, dear, this Laundry Lump doesn't seem to be working any more. I think it must have worn out or something. Time to order another one...."

Louis, I forgot about that 'laundry ball' picture! They were using one of those little rubber balls filled with some sort of special water that was to have changed the ions of the water in the washer and do the work of detergent. It was a dirty mess inside the washer and that poor little ball couldn't even keep itself clean!
