Unrealistic expectations

Why don't sellers check completed auctions to get an idea for pricing?

Not many sell for large amounts of money, very nice looking ones for around 100.00,
do they work? Now thats the next question....

When you consider a NIB Maytag wringer

Just sold for around $500, asking that same amount for an older used model is pretty steep.

I'll say it again; you'd think by the prices some sellers think it is still 1946!

There is almost *NIL* market for conventional washing machines. Aside from collectors, the Amish and a handful of others no one wants the things.

Yes - there is still a market, though very small for wringer washers but the pricing has to be just right.  There are some nice ones on CL here nearly always, ripe for the picking.  I sold my rarely used Maytag Master (without pump) for $75 in less than a week to a lady who rather gruffly told me when asked that she intended to wash clothes in it.  Her demeanor softened a little when she said she needed another for her sister.
