Stellar GE Stove FInd!!!!

Have been looking for a nice vintage electric stove for some time to match my kitchen decor. Well, on Saturday I stopped at the local Habital for Humanity store and saw this puppy.... Was just about closing time and had no way to transport it so had to pass. Out of town on business the past two days and this evening decided to stop in and see if it was still there. That it was, and they were asking $45 for it. Not a bad price at all, but then they had a "spin the wheel" special going on, with a chance to get 20-90 percent off and I spun and landed on 60!!! So for $18 this gem came home. Works perfectly!!!!!

If anyone can tell me about this oven, such as year made and such that would be awesome!!!!

I'd gander a guess at 1957-1958 - by the clock and knobs. I have part of the range sales manual scanned, but not for this model. Post the model number/serial number, which indicates the model year and production year.

Very, very nice range. And a handsome price too!

The oven controls resemble those on GE's on either side of 1960.  It's clear that your stove is a one-owner piece, and that the owner was quite the accomplished homemaker.  Hard to think of a better reason to part with $18.

The R in the model number would indicate a 1958 model year range. Great find!

Don't have any 58 GE Doctrine, hopefully someone will. Did you get the range manual? The 57 had a round clock mounted on the upper panel next to the controls and the oven dials were next to each other in the lower-center.

That is a good looking range - $45 is a great price, $18 is a steal. Enjoy!

My sister Betty had that same GE stove when she and her husband moved in 1965!  I remember it well!
