Strange warmer setup

Came across this setup in a house listing. I've seen hoods with fold down racks before that have infra red bulbs for food warming. But I've never seen a setup like this. To me that looks like a commercial APW radiant type warmer.

Just seems like a weird install plus you'd have grease buildup on the food warmer and that metal rack from cooking below. Just seems like a bad idea to me.
