Had a great weekend with Sunbeam chrome goodies coming my way. First I found the nice chrome blender at the Restore on Friday. Then on Sunday Dave from the VCCC came here and we went on a vacuum hunt. He brought me that beautiful chrome Sunbeam Mixmaster Jr. in perfect condition even the decals aren't worn away as they usually are on these mixers. This morning I dropped in at a thrift store and found another automatic toaster in primo condition as well. It's alwys hit and miss with that model whether it works properly or not but this one does and it's clean.
We had a great micro vac meet, you can see pictures over on the VCCC site of all the finds but I'll try a link here direct to the thread.

My fave junk store where we got the vacs also had an apartment size Hoover Automatic washer, not the spin washer/dryer. Looks like a regular sized US model but miniatureized. Plus a smaller rotary ironer than an IronRite. I may go back later this week and get some pictures. You'd think you'd died and gone to vintage heaven poking around this place.

Have to run out now, but off the top of my head (from having the book open earlier):

Both machines had traditional agitators, and the only major difference between the standard and deluxe models were the cycles offered, and perhaps some other minor points.

IIRC, the tub rotated clockwise while agitating, and counter clockwise when spinning. Again this is all off the top of my head, will post exact details later.

Seem to remember a member saying Hoover sourced these top loaders from Blackstone.

Those are the only two models listed in my Hoover book, which was published in 1970, besides the twin tubs.

Oh wait, there is another Hoover washer, and it is in the book as well. Was sold on both sides of the pond and was top loading but had an impeller for agitation. No spin action though, a wringer was mounted onto the machine for removing water. Sort of cross between a Hoover twin tub and wringer washing machine.

Gorgeous finds Pete!!

Oh my, you find the nicest things. :-)

I would love to thrift in your area! Do you ever find vintage electric popcorn poppers?

Heather, what kind of "vintage" popcorn poppers, those metal ones that look like a saucepan on 3 legs etc or the hot air poppers?
I was just reading an article the other day that says hot air poppers are selling to people who like to roast their own coffee beans

I'll take a pic of my favorite and show you tomorrow. If I get it out now, the kids will want popcorn and it's almost bedtime. :-)

Here it is.

This is my favorite. All others (2) are packed for moving (if that ever happens).

Heather

Never saw a popcorn popper quite like that one, but, we had an aluminum popper with glass lid and the same type of coil heating system. We used that popper a lot. Just maybe a tablespoon of oil and 1/3 cup popcorn. Oh, those fond memories!

End result

This makes the most perfect popcorn. You have to turn it constantly in order to make sure nothing burns. It has taken many tries to get the right amount of popcorn in there without popping the top right off from too much popcorn! LOL

Can't say as I've ever had anything like that Heather, it's quite fun looking though. Now I'll have to keep my eyes peeled.
But guess what, today I'm in Value Village and find another Sunbeam Radiant toaster like the one above even cleaner inside. It's raining Sunbeam on me LOL
