Love the Coffeemaster!

But... I have a problem with mine...

My problem is this: It heats up, water goes up to the top and does its thing, then the switch flips back to low. The coffee stays up in the top bubble, and very slowly returns to the bottom -- if at all. Sometimes if I re-cycle the thermostat (switch it back to high), it works the second time, and drains back to the bottom. At first I thought it was a pressure thing, perhaps an issue with the gasket.. but I no longer think that. The gasket is very smooth and supple, still.

I'm thinking that tinkering with the thermostat is gonna be the thing to do, but I'm not sure if I need to turn the high or low setting up or down..?

I had that problem with my Coffeemaster with the seal once.
Here is what it could be:

You could be getting an air leak via the seal. Is your seal the original? Is it in good condition? Is the metal part solidly installed in the seal? If it's a replacement seal is the metal part "under the lip" within the gap in the seal? It has to be.

What type of filter media are you using? It could be if you are not using a original style cloth filter the media could be too thick for the vacuum to pull the water through it.

After replacing my seal and using the Coffeemaster original filters it takes about 15 minutes to make a pot. The drain down time is about 6 minutes.
