Sorry to rub it in while so many in the country are "stuck in snow", but our little four day rain storm stopped today and the sun came out. Beautiful. I took the opportunity to work in the garden after work, and filled a cubic yard sized green waste bin with fallen limes from one tree. Must be at least 150 lbs of fruit. And there's still more on the tree! This tree has no sense of self control ;-)

Checked out the forecast, and we'll probably hit 70 during the day this weekend. Yaaay! Of course, the weeds and bugs and slugs and snails will come with the nice weather, but that's part of life.

And then there are the appliances waiting to be rebuilt (RCA Whirlpool), inspected (Lady Kenmore) or repainted (40's GE fridge). It never ends...

Isn't it wonderful, Suds? I'm still kicking myself for suffering through that needlessly for all those years. I've decided, however, that my moving must have taken place when it did for a reason, and I just go with that, and try not to worry about a past I cannot change.

There are a lot of folks though that seem to enjoy the constantly changing weather. Probably just as well, since we're getting kind of full up here in California (LOL). I just want easy and no drama, and that's what living here has given me.

There's a house I walk by on my weekend walks that has an orange tree in the front yard. It just smells heavenly!

My friend now lives in Martinez, California.

She routinely calls me up to cackle ("Oh, it's seventy-two...")

She missed the snow at first, but now realizes how nice it can be not to be bothered with it...

I have a cousin in Chicago. My whole family is from there originally but one uncle already had a career after WWII and stayed behind. This cousin will call my mom on the rare fall or winter ocassion when it's nicer in Chicago than the Bay Area and gloat. I told my sister this and she responded that my mom would go broke if she called my cousin every time it was nicer here. Really looking forward to 72 tomorrow. I hate winter! The patio chaise is beckoning!
