Supermatic Filter Nozzel...

Dear all,
Somebody asked me if I had a spare early Supermatic hard rubber filter nozzel, well I popped to the garage today and found one but its in no condition to be used unfortunately
I will keep searching to see if i have another.

Hi Keith

It was me .
Never mind and thanks for looking , unfortunately the pump on this machine has simply stopped working , absolutely no idea why.
I took the back off and had a look but the pump is attached directly to the gearbox so not a two minute job to investigate further.
Any ideas?

Hi Lance,
It is probably seized, I had the same thing happen to me on my 1400 - I had to replace it with an electric pump.

They've like many other pumps of that vintage got rubber impellers and they simply perish off the shaft, we had to give in and put an electric pump in, it's a shame not to keep it original I know, but it's no use to have a hotpoint without a filter flow or one you can't empty.

Hi Lance sorry about the pump. The pump on the first 1400 i worked on needed replacement as the original had rotted !!!
I managed to get a replacement but be aware there is a spring coupling on the later models and a key type affair on the early machines. This can simply fail but is easy to repair. Call me when you get the pump off i may have a replacement .

I havnt really looked at the pump yet as I havnt had time, it just stopped working for no apparent reason.
I will call you once I have found the cause.
