Surgilator Retrofit?

Suppose I were to get a new or good used washer. Can a classic surgilator agitator be retrofitted to any compatible new or late model machines? Are surgilators still readily available online and otherwise? And if so, which ones?--Laundry Shark

Depends on the type of Surgilator and the type of washer you intend to get. The older belt drive Whirlpool surgilators will only work in a belt drive Kenmore/Whirlpool. The newer direct drive Whirlpool Surgilators will only work in direct drive Whirlpool/Kenmore/Maytag direct drive washers. The older Surgilators connected to the machine at the top of the agitator, the newer surgilators connect near the middle of the agitator, they are not at all interchangable.
