for the last few days i am starting to have suspicion if my daily driver maytag mvw6230hw2 do not have a major defect or if its not a faulty control board here the following yesterday i wash some bedsheets washer was set to hot water wash it sent in hot water then switching to cold might be normal but not sure, then regular load washer set to warm water wash no mix i am starting to question myself if washer itself is not defective since its not working like supose to i am no tech but in term of percent what would be the chance that it might be a faulty control board that might of been cause when washer was still brand new like the power outlet of the washer was replace followed by the washer faucet house pipe where the washer is connected. The reason i am thinking that is when the power outlet of the washer cause the washer during the spin cycle to stop leaving the lid lock it making me wonder if that has not affected the control board in someway washer will be 5 years old july 21 2025 to use the washer i had to use a extension cord (*might not be related but like i said in title i have suspicion) because its clear washer is not working like supose to

Pierre listen to sound advice. Find yourself a good refurbished direct drive. It's worth it.
They have hefty motors.
Hey everyone,

I'm wondering if you all have any suggestions?

I have a GE/Monogram DW model ZDT870SSF0SS. There's nothing blocking the soap dispenser, the filters are all clean and I run the hot water before I start the machine and the soap never completely dissolves. I either find part of a pod or, as you see the the photo, there's detergent left behind. This was Cascade Complete powder. I usually use the Cascade Complete pods.

I've tried to take apart as much as I can to clean the interior and the jets. I'm constantly wiping out the machine interior and it's quick to smell funky. It gets run pretty much once a day.

Thanks in advance for your ideas.

John

But what is the wash cycle temperature? Maybe it's not hot enough to dissolve everything and you're getting a buildup of gunk. That's my first go to. Second is to be sure the bottom spray arm is actually revolving by opening the door a few times during the wash cycle and looking to see if it's in different positions from the previous.

Yes Mark, you may choose an extra rinse if desired.

Well, my neighbor's machine was 13 years old when he got it.
Being in nice physical condition for the price, he wanted it to match his Monogram fridge and Kenmore range, all in that stainless steel face look.
Besides, after spending lots on tearing apart and remodeling the kitchen, it was a small price to him.

As for me, my kitchen's a classic 1970's modern style that I'm happy with.
I'm not one to "buy into" the advertizing hype that many are prone to.
I just want everything to work, and it seems that older appliances last longer.

Have you checked that your hoses are correct? Hot to hot and cold to cold?

I've long speculated that you need a new control board, or better yet a direct drive washer. No more sorcery.
I agree!

I don't know anything about US machines, least of all top loaders, but would it be worth running the diagnostic cycle and checking the timings against the chart (it's a different model in that video, so may not apply anyway), and also using whatever component test options it has (if it has a heating element, don't run that test unless it has enough water in it). Or possibly a factory reset and recalibration, if those options exist and they don't create more problems than they solve?
