Swanson Range Hood

Has anyone heard of the Swanson brand of range hoods? Still working on the house we purchased and just took the filter off the hood. It is disgusting and working on cleaning it up. Looked at the fan because it only runs on high not low speed. It has gunk built up but it is a solid fan. The blades are metal which I have never seen before. Any help with how to clean & get it running on both speeds would be appreciated. This house has been an exciting project. Still working on getting the KDS-16 dishwasher running. Maybe I will get this house done in my lifetime...

Here in the South, all the old models had metal fan blades, they had not figured out how to cheapen things yet!
