Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

The address bar shows "auto.."  and the icon is back on the tab.  I though you might have gone back to the original server.  Everything seems fine here.  Glad it went smoothly.

Hi Matt, nope not at all, what that means is the ip addresses of the new server are propagating throughout the internet and your isp has now picked it up.  It takes up to 72 hours for it to spread throughout the world.

Just for info... I just logged out and logged back on. I got the old site with a message and link to re-direct me to the 174.121.191.0. I have ATT dsl. I will try it again after the 72 hours....

Robert,
Everything super on this end.
Seems to be very fast! Quite faster with loading pictures compared to the other server so far.

Robert,

This morning I logged out of  174.121.191.0. My computer found Automaticwasher.org site but would not let me log in on that site. I went back to 174.121.191.0 site to log back in.

Morning everyone, our shiny new sever is running along nicely, no issues so far ***knocks wood***

Terry reporting to me this morning that ever since his browser has gone back to automaticwasher.org in the address bar his Wash-Rinse-Spin buttons were not changing, they were stuck in Wash.

It appears it was an issue with Safari.  I asked him to clear his cookies and it reset everything and all was working once again.  So if you are using Safari and are having trouble, try clearing your cookies.

Actually if you are having issues with a website in any browser, clearning your cookies a lot of time takes care of issue(s).

Robert, does your new host provide control over what's archived and/or grabbed by Google and other bots? Are there plans to change the old setup (I/D/S archived, ATTT/DL not archived)?

Hi Jeff, yes they do and I have no intention of changing anything when it comes to how the search engines crawl the forums.  To the best of my ability I've been successful at keeping them out of the ATT and DL forums.

Remember if anyone is having trouble with the forums after the move (certain browsers probably didn't like my redirect that I did, which I realize now after the fact).  Deleting your cookies and browsing history of aw.org should clear it up.  If you are having still having issues you can always email me at [email protected].  I'll be busy but I'll answer when I can.

Robert-

I just posted a super bowl video link in your Chevy thread, when I preview the You-Tube content shows up using the embedded code, yet when I post the message is blank, not even my text shows up.  What's wrong?

Matt, did you turn the advanced editor off to embed a video?  If not try it again with the Advance Editing Bar switched off.

Interesting... I switched the advanced editing bar ON and now I can not scroll up or down. There is no other option to choose to get out of this screen. So... I'm typing in what happened to see what happens. There are no icons on this page to click back to any of the forums on home page. There is no way to abort my entry on this page unless I "X" out.

Jim that's because when you switch the advanced editing bar on when you are at the bottom of a thread it puts you right into POST-PREVIEW mode, this is just what it is suppose to do.  At some point I do want to make the POST-PREVIEW screen more fancy, just haven't got around to it yet.

Thank you so much for your continued diligence Robert on keeping AW.org a wonderful place to go to every day!

Initially right after the change over I had issuse with Safari logging me out after each "back" click or when changing to a different thread, BUT after reseting Safari it is working like a charm!

THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!

Kevin

Robert, I've noticed today, 2/15 tat the site is lagging quite a bit and I've gotten a timed out error a number of times.  I was trying to post a response and 3 time it timed out.  Now at 5:44pm ET. I clicked on the ATTT forum and the system hung again.  An idea what is happening?

EDIT: 10:03 PM clicked on link to site, time out error again.  Don't know if it's my system, Uverse internet, or the site host, but problem continues.....   Just timed trying to post this.....   second attempt.....  Third attempt.....
