Schwans is a door to door grocer. Most of the stuff they sell is very tasty...albiet $$$$$$ Schwans is the parent company of Red Baron freezerpizza, and under the ConAgra umbrella.

I wonder if this is similar to the Sears detergents and the old Co-op detergent that John used to use. The Co-op was very concentrated like this is.

Probably not quite as sophisticated a formula as the Sears detergents, but more equivalent to the "plastic 10 lb bucket" type stuff which is primarily soda ash and a little bit of surfactant. My grandmother used that from the Jewel store in Chicago (Jewel Maid brand, as I recall) and in the relatively hard water of suburban Chicago the Maytag was a crusty mess.

Also, was packaged very compactly (not spray-dried) so was space efficient for the Schwan's man to handle easily.
