Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Support the Bottom (is that like from a prenup?)

So, did you actually use the aluminum foil pan? All I see are the two Vollrath baking/roasting pans. What was baked in the one that did not come clean? Did you use both ovens? Is the gas one for emergencies like power failures?

Where did you find that precious snowman wearing his colors?

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun - and should have done more pre-rinsing! Those straight vane GE's are interesting to watch, not as much drama as the spiral activator - but still very effective. Those plastique GE step-children never fail to disappoint. I haven't seen many with a pronounced sympathetic index like that - they're probably just getting cheaper and crappier by the minute.

Pre-rinsing? What is that?

So, did you actually use the aluminum foil pan?
- No. Generally I don't use aluminium when avoidable.
I did use that pan to give food to friends of a guest who was off to see them after our shin-dig.

All I see are the two Vollrath baking/roasting pans. What was baked in the one that did not come clean?
-Meatload surrounded by potato cubes that cooked in the juices/gravy of the mealoaf.

Vollrath? Adjective? or name-brand or type of pot?

Did you use both ovens?
-YES. The turkey was slow-cooked @ 200*F for 6 hours, then turned up to 325*F for color for an addtional few hours.
It was juicy. The cake got the gas stove. I thought the meatlaof and the cake in the same oven would cross-polinate odors.

Is the gas one for emergencies like power failures?
-YES. This Avanti brand (Turkish) stove is essentially non-electric. All 6 burners can be ignited with a match and do not need electricity to run. Thee is a match-lite hole in the oven floor. This stove actually has a broiler (tube) burner at the TOP of the oven-cavity as do hihger-end gas stoves.

[NOTE to electric stove users: old-fashioned gas stoves have a drawer underneath the oven for boiling. In those ONE tube-burner heats both cavitites.]

The oven thermostat is an old "Robertshaw" type thermostat (not just "ON" and "OFF" but one with the size of the flame being VARIABLE. [Akin to "Fuzzy" logic)

Where did you find that precious snowman wearing his colors?
-Randomly in a drug store. Made in Fort Lauderdale, FL (doesn't that beat all?)- he just called my name. Melikes rainbows.

Looks like fun!

Hey Steve!

Looks like you and the east coast gang had a great time! I'm working out the old taste buds for those delicious meals that you will be preparing in Tucson! Everything looked fab!!!

Don't you just love those GE FilterFlo pans? I wish washers still had them. They are fun to watch, and actually work! Ah, the good ol' days!

Enjoy -

Venus :-)

Teeny Tiny Wash-in

Arrived at 2:00pm and greeted by Toggles (The HOSTESS with the MOSTESS), and the wafting aroma of his "Epicurian Delights".
The turkey was roasting, the meatloaf was being prepared, we all sat sipping wine without a single care! (Almost a good rhyme. LOL) The washers were humming and the dryer was tumbling, and the air was filled with the essence of Mexican detergent. Oh my!

Steve treats his guests royally. The meal was fit for a king and enjoyed by all. We all had a great time.
