finally got around to testing the 1977 #74770600 KM 24"BD
it's a plain-jane,flattop,rollout,single valve with dishwasher
style hookup and is HG.Grabbed at the dump about 6yrs ago,
i let sit full of water overnite to check for leaks(none)
threw in a load and switched on;worked great, only fault is
the valve in the pump does not seal the best and washer will
trickle out a little water from the drain-might be a lintball
or cracked or shrunken flapper. Has most of the classic BD
sounds-woo woos quietly, clicks and clonks loudly as wigwag
actuates the shift levers. This machine uses a thin, flat
polygroove belt so does not have the little whirwhirwhir that
the notched v-belt of the fullsize BDs,though shift and
transmission noises seem to escape from this machine easier
than they do from my '81 fullsize BD.
spin speed seems faster in this 24,will have to check the RPM
-it's a cute little washer and fun to run!

spin speed seems faster...

from what I recall other members stating that own one, yes it is. IIRC spin speed is 800 rpm! to help the matching dryer be capable of drying a load in a reasonable timeframe - enjoy your little gem, sounds like you are having fun with it

Spin

Not only is the spin speed much faster to compensate but the spin is counterclockwise rather than the typical clockwise rotation. If you've never seen one before it really throws a Kenmore person off.

Great little machine! Enjoy!
