A very informal housewarming at my home this afternoon was graced by a visit with WestyTopLoader (Austin) and RetroMom (Venus). I suggested they arrive early for some play-time. Austin had a look at my DishDrawer, ran a load in the F&P IWL12 and DEGX1, had a peep at the Whirlpool Imperial Seventy belt-drive next door, at my "vintage" 1991 KA pair, and the GE Profile dishwasher that is temporarily residing in the garage pending further swappage. Venus had a look at everything and absolutely oozed charm and enthusiasm! They gave me a kewl KA coffee grinder, and a box of Tide Mountain Spring. Fun, Fun, Fun!

OMG. Austin, I'm so sorry, I *totally* forgot about the Hoover Celebrity, even though you specifically asked to see it. Well, that means you HAVE TO COME BACK!

LOL...as you can see I'm not very "photogenic" (and Mom says she isn't but is...go figure).

F&P IWL12=FUN. I was surprised at how splashy it was on the main wash!

Thanks so much for the pictures Glenn, It looks like you guys had a great time. The coffee grinder is great! Do you have a vintage Sunbean Coffeemaster. They make great coffee!! Terry

Mini Wash-in Texas

We had such a wonderful time! Glenn was a terrific host; and his family was delightful and so much fun to talk to!

He allowed us to arrive early to "play" with the F&P's. I still can't believe that the washer plays the National Anthems of the U.S., as well as those of New Zealand and Australia (I think). I told Austin when they program the washer to play Pac-Man and balance my check book, I will get them! LOL

P.S. Glenn: BTW, the snackies were great!!

Texas Mini to Maxi wash in

I want to have one of those at my home in Pensacola. My partner Jeff says yes, have one. We only have two Sets, one 73 Maytag and New Kenmore he3t, about two years old now.

I'm glad Texas FINALLY got on the local washin map!! Glenn, you either took in laundry, or were saving for 3 weeks LOL. A naturally, those snackies would be delicious.

And Terry, I have a vintage coffeemaster, but need a gasket.

Hi Bob,

I have an unused (that's right, UNUSED) Coffeemaster model C30. Maybe Mom won't notice if I send it your way...;-)

Sorry to say Bob those gaskets are not available. If you keep watch at estate sales etc, sometimes you can still find complete pots with soft useable gaskets. Austin does the brand new one that you have, have a soft gasket and are you able to get the top bowl on and off the bottom? They do make wonderful coffee!! Terry

Hi Terry,

Yes, the gasket is easily pliable and the bowls separate easily. I'm not going to use it so it will stay in mint condition, however, Mom has a C-50 that she uses daily. The gasket is in great shape on that one as well! She recently bid on a C-20 from the 1940's, and we'll see how the gasket looks on that one. Although from what I've seen (on what I have as well as eBay), the gaskets tend to age well.

Hi Austin, It has been my experience that the gaskets on the C50's lasted much better than those for the earlier models. They are much smaller as well. Sad to say but most of the time when you find a C 20 the gasket will be hard as a rock. I hope that the one your mom is getting isn't that way. If it was ever replaced there is a chance that it will be OK. Keep us posted. Terry
