Texas Wash-In Day 2--Bellville

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Austin, I'm sorry I mmissed the baby 'mo & the GE washing. I was so exhausted once I made that trip up to the house, I just couldn't go back down. And I was waiting for them to be connected. I guess those will be on my "Next Time" list just like the GE Combo and AMP were the Must Watch ones this time.

At the end of a wonderful day...

The fun went on through the night! After that load in the GE was ran, Jason & Helen said goodbye, and the Frankenmore began the inital miles of its long trek to Louisiana, we gathered in the living room and watched 4 DVDs...the Tucson one that Mike made, my Tucson footage of the potato-pulley Laundromat, and both the Omaha and Texas December footage. We were up LATE and I was on the verge of dozing off numerous times! David left around 4 AM (DST), and Steve, Bob, & Glenn didn't leave until around 5 (DST); when we were gathered outside by the van, the paper-delivery guys were making their rounds on our street throwing the "Houston Comical", if you can believe that!!!

A good time was had by all, meeting new faces and seeing familiar ones again.

Glenn, good luck with the Agi-Tamer. Hopefully it will un-freeze that agitator in the 906. One of these days we need to do a fix-in for the GE, WO-65, and 906!

Steve Bisso aka Steve 1-18, it was A LOT of fun having you out here, and I as well as everyone else was glad you were able to make it and join the festivities. The Duomatic is just awesome! Know that you are welcome here ANYTIME; whenever you're in Texas again, stop by!

Jason, enjoy your machine, and it is always nice having you film the event. Can't wait for a DVD of this one!

David, it was great to finally meet you and see some of your machines; all of them are literally like NEW. Your knowledge of vacuums is outstanding, and you know a lot more about washers than you think, LOL! Thank you SO MUCH for the Eureka hose I needed for my Bradford, the AWESOME literature, and all the play laundry as well! I'm still trying to think of something to send your way in exchange for all the stuff you brought; will find something soon though!

Jeff, it was great to meet you as well; I could tell you had fun playing with the machines. Austin seems to be a good territory for great finds; you'll build up a good collection in no time!

Bryan, thanks again for the great dinner you prepared on Friday, and Bob, whenever the next wash-in is, I'll make sure you get your fair share of Baby Kenmo' and GE action. I'll also be looking for a new thread on Deluxe, LOL.

Lee/Sudsman, sorry you weren't able to make it this weekend, and Kelly, I will be sure to let you know whenever the next one is. Barry and Allen, we missed y'all, and Carol, sorry you weren't able to come on Saturday.

As always, the 2nd Texas Wash-In 2006 was a GREAT success!

I wanna thank Glenn for being such a great host and letting myself & Brian invade your kitchen lol.

For Venus, Austin, Tom, and Haley, thank you seems so inadequate. Your hearts and arms area always open to welcome any and all of us, but it's so important to me. And Austin, I cna't wait until I can see all that new washing action.

Brian, thank you so much for the team work in putting together the feast and your great ideas. I probably would have cratered Fri. evening if it hadn't been for you. I was almost too numb to head out to Glenn's wonderful, exciting NEW laundry studio with all its surprises for me.

Glenn, thank you for the latest chapter of observiing "forbidden cycles".

And the new faces I finally got to meet in person, David, Jeff, and Carol--y'all are awesome. And Helen, you already know what's in my heart.

All is well

And as you saw before, Frankie is in his new home in Opelousas. Oh yes, I ran a PP and a Normal load last night. I took care of every last bit of laundry getting Frankie used to his new home. I think he likes it, sitting next to a BRAND NEW machine. Almost like having a grandson. I wish I could've been there for the 11pm last load but I was exhausted and so was Helen.

I got ALOT of good video of almost all the machines. I got the 'tag going into spin, Frankenmore's last load. I got AWESOME shots of the GE combo chain-drive spin shifter, and of course so dramatic mini-basket action.

Once I finish the Pensacola Washin DVD, I'll start on this one.

I promise to make the next Texas wash in. I was going to come to this one, but I had a trip swap to make. It looks like you all had a lot of fun! Those photos are very nice. It's always nice to see photos on this website! Thanks for sending them.

The wash-in thread I started got tucked down in the Super section, so I'll add some comments to Austin's thread.

First, it was a blast to meet the new peeps and visitate again with the 'oldsters.' Word I had was Jason & Helen were going to make only Bellville on Saturday, so I was tres surprised when they pulled up behind Carol.

Bob & Bryan and their assistants did a bang-up job on the cooking. Lawdy, we had bunches of food. Chicken mole, mmmm! Guacamole dip, mmmm! Tacos, mmmm! Chocolate cheesecake, mmmm! Pumpkin dump cake, mmmm!

Austin's machines on Saturday were perfectly functional, of course. Mine on Friday were, uhhh, marginally funtional, LOL. Running a Bob-load in the KA 760, the agitator dogs went bad and we saw that the "clothes mover" really does help with rollover.

I think it was asked in the other thread what are all my machines. In absolute order of acquisition: KitchenAid 760 pair, F&P GWL08& DE04 pair (but currently living at my grandmother's house), F&P IWL12 & DEGX1 pair (which didn't get run Fri evening), Frigidaire WO-65 (I ran it briefly, just to show that it does run!), Maytag A206, Maytag A906/DE906 pair (in coppertone!), Whirlpool Calypso & a single-speed, standard capacity GE FilterFlow. Yes, there's a KUDS22 also.

The DishDrawer "forbidden cycle" was done by getting a cover made (thanks, RJ!). The drawer closed/open sensor is optical. There's an infrared light emitter and pick-up tube on the motherboard at the upper right side of the drawer. A prism mounted in the cabinet frame bends the beam from the emitter and routes it back to the pickup. I ordered a "tub home" prism via Sears Parts online and taped it to the side of the drawer.

Those who were invited and couldn't attend, we missed you. Those who weren't invited and would liked to have attended, we apologize! Next time I'll either have some or all of my machines working better, or maybe I'll have more machines that also don't work so well. :-)

gifted and talented Westy

On the agitator shelf of pure white agitators, I think I spied both the penta-swirl and the penta-flex--nice!

The mini-quick spin, esp. after the wash: I sure agree--blink or sneeze and you miss it.

I have a big gap in my washer education. Very little experience with and don't "GET" front loaders. I wish you'd teach me.

Thanks to all of you for sharing the Wash-In experience. Austin, have you ever tried substituting a deep tub turquoise Power Fin for the Gyrator in your 101P? I assume you have bypassed the lid switches so that you don't need the water level switch to be activated by the chrome cap.
Tom

So, more details, please, on the GE Dispense-all; Is the very-wide recirculation flume part of the design?

Does the water shoot out of different portions of it aiming for an analogous water-channel in the dipenser itself? If so how is this "aiming" accomplished?

Thanking you in advance...
