Hey, I'm tired, and when I'm tired, I tend to blabber..Body is shot, but the mind races 90 MPH...(Dang Mercury Rising)
2 jobs down, start a new one tommorrow...But just wanted to pop in and respond:

Yes I am hard on myself, other people have told me that too recently...I'm working on that
Venus...hon, change that Corona to Tecate; 12 oz cans, 6 pack with some buttery-nipples *LMAO* and I'm there. Certain people who know me well, know, that I associate Corona with a certain black and white marsupial animal's body fluids. It must be an acquired taste, as I have never been able to drink it. Dos Equis is pretty good Mexican ale too.
In all seriousness, I would of been there, had I not been working 2 jobs, 7 days a week. Having to put a beloved kitty to sleep THAT day, and the funds to do it all. (I wouldn't of come empty handed, that's just me, whether it be food, little home-made gifts for all, or both.)
Now, finally, the 2 jobs have both ended, one Friday, and one tonight, a new 3 yr Oil and Gas Project starts on Monday, Kitty is waiting for me at the Rainbow, and her ashes sit up on the mantle, next to my mother's, the Christmas tree finally got put up late last night, life is getting better, believe it or not. TMI? Probably, but this isn't even HALF of the drama, I have had to deal with the last few weeks.
I WILL be at the next wash in!! I PROMISE you that! I changed the email addie, as I think Spam filters prevented Austin's email from getting to me...
I'll bring the buttery-nipples (Toggle, hush, it's a shot drink, I'm not puttin' no oleo on my (*)(*)'s.

I am still amazed by the vids! Every time we view them, we feel like we're back at the wash-in (and I feel like I've been transported back to my school and hippie days)! They continue to make us smile!

There's NOTHING like a wash-in at the Wilders, fun machines, groovy video games and lots of good food. And even clean-up is fun with all those FAB vacuums.

Hopefully one day, there will be an Opelousas wash-in. But I need to buy a house first before getting the first vintage machine.

Hi Peter,

Glenn's Fisher & Paykel spins at 1010 RPM on high speed according to the technical specifications he found, although it is advertised at 1000.

My 1993 White-Westinghouse FL does reverse-tumble (drum turns in both directions); this machine was also made under the Kenmore name and was called the "Dual-Tumble" washer. It has a single belt/pulley for the drum, control board, an AEG servo-motor and a separate electric pump; a radical departure from the previous 3-belt Potato-Pulley version. If I remember correctly, the Dual-Tumble was produced from 1989-1994 and shares a lot of characteristics of the Frigidaire/Electrolux that followed. I personally like one-direction tumbling as it provides for more suds/water drama and would love to find a Potato-Pulley machine in the future, but this machine is still very fun to watch, especially on a small load with a good amount of detergent and the water level control set to "Large"!

Fisher & Paykel

Hi again --

Which is the Fisher & Paykel dryer (top load) the direction (one or two).
Before I went to Lowe's to see Fisher & Paykel...I looked nice about:
Washer - small holes, stain drum with circle lines (thick metal)
without belt, pullery, DC motor, etc.

Dryer (top load) -- how do make start first? is that close automatic sliding door?

The Fisher & Paykel TL dryer is a two-direction machine as well. To start it, you close the main lid and select the appropriate cycle. The sliding door closes automatically when the drum starts turning. In the picture with the lid open and the drum turning, Glenn defeated the lidswitch/lock.

Peter, the video shows the dryer with the outside lid open and the lock bypassed to show how the drum rotates. Normally it cannot be seen running. The lid locks for safety. Running it open is very dangerous, could get fingers caught in the rotating drum, and even chopped off.

The dryer drum turns in both directions. It runs for 4.5 mins, slows to a stop, restarts in the reverse direction for 40 seconds, then pauses and resumes again in the normal direction. The forward/reverse continues for the entire length of the cycle, including during the cooldown. 4.5 minutes forward, 40 seconds reverse. The dryer is belt-drive. The belt is wrapped around the far right side of the drum outside the loading area, cannot be seen in the video.

Here are a couple more videos you might like, showing how the inner drum lid opens and closes. I raised up the entire top deck for a better view. If you look VERY closely, you can see the narrow black strip at the far right, which is the belt.

Forward Tumble - 4.5 Minutes (which is 270 seconds)
Pause - I don't know how long the pause takes, I've never timed it
Reverse Tumble - 40 seconds
Pause -
Forward Tumble - 4.5 minutes

Reverse Tumble - 40 seconds
Pause -

Repeating the process over and over for however long the drying cycle lasts.

During the pauses, the motor simply coasts to a stop, remains completely stopped for maybe two seconds, then starts up in the other direction.

One of the nights I went to bed as the last load was drying (the bedroom I got to stay in was butted up against the laundry room so I heard the dryer), it was in cool down mode and had finished the 40 sec reverse and had begun the 4.5 tumble direction. but, 10 seconds into the longer tumble, the dryer finsihed the cool down cycle lol. I went to sleep chuckling.

Methinks there's a subroutine that handles the reversing, loops outside the main cycle.

WMP stopped running on my computer. Says "Internal applicationn error" This is under Win2000. Originally, version 9 worked just fine, then it just stopped. When i try to download and install it again, the installation process doesn't give me a choise of where to install it. It puts a shortcut on my desktop, but whenI look for it in the directory where it's supposed to be, it's not there.

What would be really neat to add to the "film" looking video is a little bit of "projector clatter" to the beginning and end of the footage!
