As president of the Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Club, I feel that I must Thank all of you here at Automatic Washer.

Our convention this year was a huge success due to all the support we have received from your group over the last year.

Robert, you are a wonderfull person that brings great leadership to the Automatic Washer group. Our members were in awe once they arrived at Greg's home and saw his wonderful collection. Your presentation of the UNIMATIC had everyone's attention. The stroll down memory lane for many of us was the
high point of this years convention. Some of our members did not know what to expect, but I have only heard positive comments about everything.

Greg, Terry, thank you for sharing your many talents with us. Greg your home is wonderful, the pink stove in your unfinished kitchen(some of us felt you dont' need to go any further with the remodel) could have gone home with many of us......not to mention the fabulous Electro-Hygein upright in your basement...Oh wait...that may be in my suitcase...LOL

I can honestly say, both of these groups have changed my life, adding new friends, broadening my knowledge of appliances in general (both new and old this year) and restoring memories of times past.

It was also great having Chester Mike with us from the UK. That may have been a first in our club history. Watching you iron with the Meile and then later to watch Marty K downstairs ironing shirts was a highlight for me. The load of towels you washed in the Hoover portable brought back floods of memories for me. I had friends that had that same machine in green.

Thank You all for support, sharing, and for all the new friendships.

Morgan

Hi Morgan, first of all I want to give you and everyone at the VCCC a big YAY and thank you for inviting all of us here at automaticwasher.org to your wonderful convention. I have to say that I have had just as much fun at this convention as I had at all of our washer conventions. Our two groups mixed just like magic, it really doesn’t matter whether it’s a vacuum or an automatic washer, they are just machines and we all can appreciate each other’s interest because they are so closely related to each other. It was just like we’ve known each other for years, even though many of us had just met this weekend.

I want to give a special thank you to Fred S. and Charlie W. for the Hoover Clinic, it was so much fun to watch Fred and Charlie take apart two Hoover Convertibles and make one good machine. I can’t tell you how many times I have done that with a washer and watching the two experts explain the process and giving advice, I was thinking yes in total agreement having done similar things to different machines. It was also great to see such quality construction that goes into those vintage Hoover machines, they look like you could shoot a bullet through them and they would keep on running and running.

And to Andy W. I also learned quite a bit about Miele vacuums such as, it’s quality and superb construction, not to mention how quiet they run. And most of all since I can never remember how to pronounce Miele, you said just think of Sheila, YAY I love that!

Marty K. your ironing skills were amazing and fun to watch, and Fred N. and Charlie, I love you guys, it was so much fun having you guys at the wash in. Morgan finally we get to meet, YAY, I was so very impressed with your leadership skills, when you spoke everyone tuned right in.

I sure hope we can do this again sometime real soon, the best part was making all of these new friends. With the VCCC Board's permission I would like to add a permanent link on automaticwasher.org’s home page to Vacuumland so everyone can click over and see aw.org's best friend.

It was great meeting the AW.org members at the convention. Each person adds something special to the weekend. Robert, you are right, it's like we've known each other for years. I miss everybody so much already, I'm here at the store trying to snap out of my post-convention depression :-) If it wasn't for these two wonderful websites to keep everyone connected, it would be too much!

It was so much fun to finally see the vintage washers in action that everyone has talked about on this site. It's so hard to pick a favorite. One things for sure; growing up in a household that had machines ranging from the 80's to current sure does open my eyes to the difference in quality between vintage and new.

I said it on Vacuumland, but it bears repeating. Everyone involved in planning and executing this event did an amazing job. Can't wait for next year!

forgot the PS

When I tried to view the pix this a.m. at school, your link is so big and upscale that the giant system network refused it--couldn't upload it! How dramatic is that? Not once has that happened. It's just as well. Much more fun taking my time to enjoy and appreciate them at home. Thanks, again, Fred. What a ton of work--all those captions--My God! Must have taken forever.

I love it when I'm stupid

Sorry, Wrong Thread; this is for Fred. I'm gonna hickey myself for an hour with the vacuum cleaner as punishment for being a moron. YAY SUCKINGS YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
