Posted about the detergent dispenser on the KDI-14 that wasn't working. Knew I would find a solution here for a part for a 50 year old machine. Here is a pic of the front of the machine.

I had a solution. Greg posted a link to a complete replacement for the detergent dispenser including the cork gasket. Needed to replace the unit. Got the replacement unit from Decatur Illinois. We'll have to go down and see what else this guy has.

Fred it's good to see you.

That is one of my faverite machines from Kitchenaid I grow up with

the three button model at my neighbor's home that was only used on holidays lol.

Then it became a storage closet , can you imagine.

Anyway it must feel good to have access to a part

and the know how to install it to keep it going congrats.

What a beautiful machine I show your machine to

colleges and friends for a reference on a grand machine and styling

for years since I became a member here.

Hope it runs well for you in years to come !

All you need now is a...

Rinse Aid dispenser! Any of the dispensers from the 14 thru the 18 series will fit in the door of your machine and is easily wired in. You probably have the wires in the door already. I am sure that you can find one from one of the people on here as well as the same place you got the detergent dispenser from.

Adding A Rinseaid Dispenser To The 14

Yes the door has the wiring in it already, there is a terminal strip at the top right side inside the door and you can see the terminals labeled RD and C2 terminals where the wires can be connected. You can see this in one of your pictures where you are showing the old leaky detergent dispenser.

Thanks Guys!

I'll need two rinse agent dispensers. One for the KDI-14 and one to replace the non-functioning one on my KDS-17 in the kitchen. Was hoping this guy has a couple and will check it out. You can see in the back of the lower rack on the 14 the solid Jet Dry. Here is my KDS-17.

BTW

The 17 is resurrected! The bearings went out and I had to have it removed temporarily until Greg could get me a new motor. He did and here is Robert and Greg restoring the 17 to her rightful place after they replaced the pump and motor unit! Still working great.
