On behalf of Ross, Nate and myself....we want to thank everyone who came to Tucson this weekend and made the whole thing such a big success and not to mention a whole lot of fun.
I imagine after the suds have died down we will have plenty of pictures to share with everyone.

Not to mention the "secret DVD!"

I have attended old car functions, radio and phono functions across the country. This was the best function ever! The warmth and friendliness of everybody there was just incredible. My thanks to all of you for making a wonderful weekend!

What a fun wash-in; it was definitely worth coming to!! Mike, I agree, the general cameraderie and friendliness around here was incredible; just like family!! All of us talked for HOURS. And like I said before, it couldn't be possible without the help of our three fantastic hosts!! Thanks y'all!!

No....THANK YOU!!!

Roger, Ross, Nate, Will, Nate, and Melissa:

I can't begin to say enough thank you's to all of you for the most fabulous weekend that I've had in years!!! From the moment I laid eyes on the spectacular mountain views of Tucson, I knew it was going to be a terrific stay!

We were initially met by Ross and Roger at the airport (what a wonderful surprise!) who welcomed us to Tucson. After dropping off the luggage at the hotel, we proceeded to Roger's house. I was completely awestruck at his unbelievable vacuum collection; oh the colours, the models...The Kirby's were showroom fresh!! That was only the beginning...then there were the mixmasters in every colour, the handmixers, coffeemakers, and the precious turquoise Frigidaire 30" Flair range!! After a delicious lunch prepared by Terry, we set off to the washers. The Blackstone was the center of attention, especially when her lovely lighted controls shone in the evening. We also had great fun with the extractor, spinning at a cool 2800 rpms! They don't call it an extractor for nothing! That machine could wring water out of a rock!!

Terry prepared a delicious dinner of spinach lasagne, yummy salad, and mouthwatering cake for dessert! Bob showed the crowd how to do his famous "Bobload" in the Kitchenaid (no rinsing please!). We were all groaning as we rolled our way back to the washers!

The second day brought us to Ross's home. All I can say is "SIMPLY BREATHTAKING"!! He is nestled in the Catalina foothills with a view that brings instant peace and tranquility! To top that off, his pale blue laundry studio was instant eye candy! My eyes were immediately drawn to the lovely blue Westinghouse coin-op and the one-of-a-kind bolt-down Kenmore! That little gal produced one of the largest sudscakes to date! It was like Angelfood on steroids!! Ross showed us the fine points of ironing! He set up "dueling ironing boards" for all of us to show off our particular ironing techniques!! Nate and I dueled over the can of sizing as we "pressed on", engaging in lively conversation! Was that fun, or what!!!!!

Steve, Erik, and Terry wowed us with a meal fit for a king (or queen, thank you)! The kitchen wizards filled us with Spanakopitas, Roast Turkey, Pastistio, Greek Cabbage Salad, Tossed Salad, Potatoes, Broccoli, Carrots, Bread, and Yummy desserts! Steve; you outdid yourself honey!

Sunday morning filled us with a sense of dread! We were going to have to leave! Those "blues" were immediately alleviated when we showed up at Nate and Melissa's home! After a warm welcome by our hosts Nate, Will, Nate, and Melissa, we sipped on Kaluhua-laced coffee and proceeded to the laundry shed! The Westinghouse potato-pulley slantfront caught our attention right away! The "splash-olation" was heavy-duty! Those suds hitting the window looked like North Sea wave action! You had to love the "Fraud-gimore"! Yes folks, she looks like a 1-18 on the outside, but a peek under the hood says otherwise! Regardless....splashy, great agitation!

While everyone was busy in the laundry shed, Nate and Will were spinning their cooking magic in the kitchen! We dined on fresh fruit with yogurt, homemade waffles (courtesy of Nate's vintage Sunbeam waffle maker), eggs, bacon, sausage, toast; complemented by Mimosas (prepared by Will) and some more of that Kaluha coffee! We all made more than one trip back to the dining table that looked like something from the Hyatt!

We caught up with old friends and met so many wonderful new friends! The camaraderie was incredible, and the conversation never ceased! We talked about everything from appliances, to politics, to "bun warmers" in our vehicles!! I don't think I stopped grinning the whole time I was there! I was waited on hand and foot and felt like a princess all weekend! It was better than going to an Arizona spa!!!

You all made it such a marvelous, magical weekend! Thank you so much for opening your homes, collections, and hearts to all of us! The memories will last a lifetime!!!

Venus :-D

OOPS!

I must still be suffering from jet lag....I meant
"Fraud-gidaire"! And now for some z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z's!

LOL

Thank you all so much!! I can't wait to see you all again soon--what a great group of people! It was a real pleasure and an honor to meet all of you.

Venus, I love the "Fraudgidaire"--I think that's my new favorite name for it :-P

Take good care, and I'll be looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Hi Venus and Austin. Was great to see you both again. It was fun from the minute Roger and I met you at Tucson Airport. Was great to watch you ironing and watching all our machines.
And we look forward to seeing you both again soon.

Ross
