Hi guys!
I need an info, I have a little olive green AUTOMATIC OVEN BROILER and I was wandering if that color was the same as the one used on old 60's and 70's fridges and ovens? and if so, where can I find that precise color of paint.

thank's in advance,
Nick from Québec

Chances are it is a typical "Avocado Green" from the 70's but there was not standard avocado green that matched with every manufacturer. Some were lighter some darker and some had darker green towards the edges.. What make is your oven/broiler.. Samson Dominion? from the Consumers Distributing catalog?

Yes it is the one in the first picture, so do you guys know where I can find some appropriate green paint to give it a new life?

and by the way, do you know the name of the company that made that device and it's aproximate cost?

thank's again!

It cost $16.97 Canadian in 1973/74. I'm not sure what kind of paint you could use since it gets very hot. Perhaps someone at Rona or Home Depot might know if those Tremclad or Rust Oleum paints would work. Not very many places do color matching for consumer spray paints in a can except for car and motorcycle repair guys or perhaps a place that does "powder coating" but it's going to cost a lot of money.

JeffG, i spotted that hoover fry pan too, had to back up and read the text. PeteK, that catalogue is set up like the old defunct "Wilson's", that evolved into Service merchandise. alr2903
