For the life of us it looks like nothing's wrong with this 1-18 Ben found recently. Needless to say we're both impressed with the pulsating action of the Crown! Cleaned up decently too : )

I now see why people go crazy over these machines - they are sooooo much fun! I had a good time cleaning this one up - besides a little scrape on the front and a few dings on the panel - she looks great! Austin - when the break is applied and it stops from a spin, the tub does a 3/4 turn the other direction - from what you've said, it sounds like it is running fine! BTW - thanks for the suggestion on the drain hose - the Lowe's treatment really took care of the missing drain hose.
I still have to clean out the lint filter - man that thing was gross! I guess it is good to know it actually catches lint!
The timer was giving us a fuss - but after a bit of lubrication, she was running like a finely tuned watch! I tried many different cleaners on the window, including some steel wool. Any suggestions on how to get the hard water stains off the window?

YAY for 1-18's
You guys are going to love you new toy. Word of advice; don't be afraid to fill it up. My 1-18 handles 7 big fluffy bath towels, 4 hand towels, and bunch of kitchen towels all while maintaining a nice quick even turnover.

Ben did you try CLR, I believe it's plain old phosphoric acid. Sometimes plain old vinegar works as good or better than brand products but you need to let it soak overnight or more. The trick is how do you get it to soak in when the dirty side is "upside down" If it were on the top side of the glass you could soak a towel with vinegar and let it sit there.
Oh one other thing.. Home Depot here always has a lot of ZEP industrial cleaners, might be something there.

Whatever cleaners you try, be sure to test them on a very small area first, to be sure they don't etch the glass or remove whatever proper markings might be there. Personally I'd be wary of steel wool or any other abrasives (except possibly Bon Ami), and solvents.

Water stains...
You might have good luck with some Lime-Away or CLR but I have had some glass windows that will never be completely clear again. The hard water actually etches the glass. On the Maytag combo, I had pretty good luck removing the deposits with a straight razor blade but there is still a bit of etching in some places.

Let the filter get soaking wet,pull it out,and tap it on a hard surface,filtering side down.

WOOHOO, looks great guys!! While I love the solid-tub Frigidaires, there's something about the 1-18's that makes them a LOT of fun to use...could it be that they pulsate 30 PPM faster and have that loud "CHUG-CHUG-CHUG" sound similar to a diesel engine?
For hard water stains, I've had awesome results with Easy-Off BAM. However, like Greg said, hard water tends to etch glass...it's happened to my Dual-Tumble and I wondered why none of it came off. Although when you get a good amount of water or suds splashing up on the window you can see in normally.

HArd water stain removal...
Had this suggested to me once, and it worked pretty well too:
lemon juice and cream of tartar...
sprinkle some cream of tartar on the glass, then "scrub" it with a lemon sliced in half...
I did this on some seriously stained bathroom fixtures, and it worked pretty well.

My sugestion is boiling the vinegar and useing it hot it will work a lot faster and is all natural and is great for getting
