The Arberdeen farm

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

Welcome Mike:

Unfortunately the farm is gone. I believe it had been cleaned up for environmental reasons. However we are lucky to have a photo gallery to look at those wonderful machines. At this point, I must thank Robert (Unimatic1140) who created this site for this, as well as this treasure of a forum.

Have a good one,
James

well I am saddened o hear that. but I am sure that most those machines still worked even though they were sitting there for soo long. oh well I am sure that there is another place like it somewhere in the world.

Yaw should see my yard. Well it's my back yard behind privact fence so as to not to offend the neighbors. My community just posted publicly that police will be issuing notices to remove ALL non-working appliances from thier yards as well abandoned cars. You have 10 days to get the car or washer etc running or get rid of it. Communist move if you ask me. I am responsible as to not allow water to breed mosquitos or cause any other hazards. But I am classed as if I'm some trashy ass redneck that dont give a shit about his yard. I have to keep my machines in the yard cause I ran out of room in my shop. They will have to force me to remove my units by physical force. i swear to that.

What if you don't drag them outside? Also, Unimatic1140 did save some washers from the Aberdeen Farm. One of them is the White 1957 Lady Kenmore that he has restoration pics of on the restorations section of the main site.

I went up to the Aberdeen Sacred Appliance Burial Grounds a couple of times, it was a blast! There were still lots of appliances there, but most of the really old stuff was long gone. Bulldozed into a pile and then placed into a baler and carted away for scrap.

As far as working, well, you'll just have to pull a machine from a junkyard someday and plug it in! (just kidding - none of these machines was ready to wash, several months of work to bring them back to life)

that last pic reminds me of the place that I scrap out my old machines when they have to be buried. They use a 'magnet' crane to suck them out of the back of your truck. Scares the shit out of me till this day no matter how many times I take a load there. I can only see myself in the air when the magnet picks up the whole truck and flings me on the pile.

Hey xyz, it's too bad that so many situations of junked cars and appliances in yards have prompted this sort of clean sweep activity in your town. A few bad actors can wreck it for those who are more responsible about their accumulations.

I couldn't help but notice all the zero's in your AW profile, though. What's up with that?

Oh rp2813

thats so sad "I couldn't help but notice all the zero's in your AW profile, though. What's up with that?"

How many zeros do we all have?, I should check my profile.

How Zeroed are we all here, even theWebmaster has a big fat ZERO in his Apex column.

That could be a new club rating....how zeroed are you?

If someone was actually Non-Zeroed in their profile that would mean we'd have to collectively kill them and take their machines for the good of the state! The state of applianceville that is.

Jet---you are not the only one------

It took me well over a year to rebuild the '55 Unimatic that John fetched from the farm! And it was tough!

Only the finest Hydro-P!

Oh Jon, there's no excuse for you taking a YEAR to restore a simple Frigidaire, even if it was on the farm for thirty years. Steve was diving into his cold with no experience, but YOU?? It only took a little more than six weeks to for me to do the Kelvinator - remember the pictures?? That was the first one I did and all I had was a lowly Repair Master! You have rooms full of doctrine and manuals for these babies! No excuse!!

The question is: What are you smoking and who are you smoking with? Killing other members to get their machines? One might question your upbringing ;-)

JETCONE UPPER CASE

You moved up to all caps today--YAY
Why not, since you own the place!!!
Would you let me know if you want the Bendix radio. See L's Q's to ponder Frigidaire thread.

AL wants all caps now too.

Mike
