The BIG Spring (West Coast) Wash-In!!!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Gordon, get over yourself. You look very nice, if a little sleepy.

I'm sorry I couldn't make it, would have dearly loved to be there... Especially to see the 63 Turquoise (not light blue) Kenmore 70 being worked on (I grew up with the coppertone version of the same... ).

Then again, you all were spared the sad puppy dog looks of me watching you all eat bread and pie and cake. (No gluten for me in the last 3.5 years... )

Cheers, all. I enjoyed the pictures and vid.

Looks like....

Another grand time was had by all, thanks Kevin for inviting us all worldwide, the web cam was great, although due to time difference here I saw the beginning and the wind down just as most people where leaving...LOl

Gordon I saw the bit at the end when Tim was demonstrating the wringer washer near the camera, the sound was not on all the time and adds kept interupting play but it looked like lots of fun - so spared your blushes...LOl

Kevin, was trying to find out what the front loader was with the top off, I thought it was a spacemate but then knew for sure when the solenoid went of with a bang, as we had picked one up over here and have been repairing it - why do they make them soooo noisy!!!

What powder was in the Maytag FL that made it oversudz?? and how was Rosalies received??

Cheers, Mike

Wow - what a great party that must have been!!

Looks like you have a future as a 'wash-in event planner' Kevin!

Congratulations on a highly successful wash-in and wait for it..... dang I wish I could have been there....

Fabulous!

Kev - what an incredible party you had! By the looks of things, a great time was had by all and there was plenty of washing fun! We would have loved to have been there to see/meet everyone and celebrate...we hope to make the next one! Keep those pictures/videos coming - it's the next best thing to being there!

New kid on the block.

Thank's again Kevin for the invite to my first wash-in. What an awesome group that made me feel welcome & part of the club. A great time was had by all, Bob...

Again,

Thanks for thinking of the web-cam, it was a lot of fun HEARING your voices and the machines. Even the water gurgling down the stand-pipe made me smile.

That said, I gotta tell ya, I laughed long and hard at the "wringer" conversation at the end of the night. Tim, I thought you'd never get those shop towels wrung out!

Looked a helluva party. Woo-hoo for wash-ins!

Sorry I missed it!

Wow, looks like a great time was had by all who attended.

I had seriously considered going, but had to spend over $700 on having my truck repaired last month, and it has to have new tires and shocks soon.

Whenever I make another trip out west, I'll sure try to stop in at Kevins!

Looks like a Fab time had by all! I was with you all in spirit!

John LeFever...where are you?! I need help with my '65 Lady K combo! Bad filter hose and am having trouble finding a suitable substitute/replacement/repair for it. Any ideas? I hate to part this thing out considering it all works well otherwise. Please feel free to email me [email protected].

Thanks and sorry to post my plea for help in this thread but saw the photo of John and the combo...

Washers and more...

Kevin,

Thanks for hosting the wonderful western Wash-In.  And a big thanks to Kelly for the unbelievable spread of endless food.  I had a really great time with so many interesting people.  The best part for me was meeting people with such a variety of related cross-interests: random collectible appliances, classic architecture, cars, art, and vintage design & engineering in general.  This could have gone an entire weekend (and for some it did).

Well done, everyone !

Pete.

Water Torture ~PLUG THAT SUCKER IN !

The Rotoflex movie. You're all standing around talking then debating the water level, and I'm shouting at the screen begging Andy to plug it in and getting Gordon to put the dial in the dead zone setting we were all talking about the other day, and get that Lady stroking at a low water level. What fun! Water boarding anyone?

Great to see everyone. Thanks. Wish I could have been there too!

Kevin, and all who attended,

This sure was a fun event, even though I was not there in person. Having the web cam was spectacular - being able to see all of the work going on, and everyone enjoying the whole experience. I was even doing some laundry right along with all of you there.

Thanks for sharing your party with all of us.

Mike

We're just gone home safe and sound. A big thank you Kevin for opening up your home to all of us, we both had a grand time! Your collection is simply amazing! It was great to put some faces with some some screen names that I have seen for years.

Looking forward to the next wash in!

I just got home now myself, and I would like to say a big thank you to Kevin for hosting a marvelous wash-in!  I was thrilled to see so many old friends and make new ones too.  A very fun time that I will fondly remember.  Kelly, what an amazing cook you are!  Thank you for all the hard work and it was very nice to finally meet you in person.

Home safe and sound here too, it was a fantastic time - 3 days whizzed by!

Just look at these stunning Kenmores.  Look again!

A few of us had not been to California (LA) for a number of years so we careened around the city experiencing a taste of it all.  Hollyhock House (FLW) and Hollywood, vacuumland friends, detergent shopping, Kevin's amazing party, sloe gin and all the wonderful people.  There's never enough time!!  Thank you, everyone, who made this weekend so incredible!

Awesome!

Thanks for another great wash party, Kevin! It was great seeing so many old friends from near and far. And fun to meet some new friends also. Kelly, thanks for the excellent grub and the birthday cakes for us April babies. Where's all the pictures? Of course, I didn't remember to bring a camera...duh!!

Thank you everyone! But...........

.... WHERE ARE ALL THE PHOTOS???

Come on everyone, post your photos from the wash-in!!!

Kevin

~ Greg, that is a GREAT photo of the two brown... erm... coppertone twins next to each other!

YAY Kevin!

I'm posting from the ever so tiny keyboard on my iPhone but after reading all the great posts wanted to respond.

I had a GREAT time. Kevin, it was THE event of 2012. I have pictures and will post at a later time.

It was so great to meet people from AW in person and the connection we all have here is so awesome.

My fun continues on as I sit here in Palm Springs and reflect on the great memories created from this event.

Patrick

Was able to see "glimpses" of the action on my laptop connected to a US Cellular cordless internet.Looked like fun-and Good Times had by all who were there.Thought of the Wash-In while doing my laundry the next day.

Wow

It is always so much fun to follow a wash-in, and I'm sure even more fun for those attending.

Reviewing this event brought back all the feels and excitement from when I participated in the MN event at Robert and Fred's a few years back.

Hi to all of you I met then and good for you for attending another one of these incredible gatherings .... and in CA which is always great fun.

For those who attended, keep posting pics as I intend to milk this one for days.

Patrick (a guy from the vacuum side)
