Greg, GE combos went from the 4 vane drum to the 6 vane drum when they changed from the machine with the tranny to the machine with the variable sheave pulley system as a speed changer in the late mid 50s. I believe it is safe to say that if it has a squared corner cabinet, it has a 6 vane drum. The combo with the tranny extracted between water changes instead of just after the last rinse.

Meanwhile, in the Kenmore repair line...

Gordon, Tim and I were elbows and knees deep in my 66 LKM, so I didn't get any pictures of the work (others did, I hope). so, here's the maiden wash of clothes.

More wash action... I love this washer, but I AM biased. I just can't thank QSD_DAN for finding the pair! Thanks, Dan! Also, HUGE thanks to Gordon for taking the time to teach me about doing the bearings and seals along with tricks! Also, thanks to Tim for helping muscle the basket drive out...

The Kenmores were not always cooperational with the surgeons... Kevin's 63 had some clean up to do.

They may have fought, but Gordon had the patience of a saint and the persistance of a Kirby salesman. One by one, he <span style="text-decoration: line-through;">beat</span> encouraged them to come back to life. One by one, they were wet tested.  In the end, Kevin's still had a small leak off the front of the platform but was massively improved with a quiet spin and almost no leaks. Not bad for a washer that, according to Gordon, had almost everything down below already replaced including a trans with fast brake. John worked on Mike's turquoise 66 LKM which also needed bearings and also actually ended up getting a donor transmission. Here we see it getting the water test. We ended up having a winner.

Tim really put his heart and soul into the Westinghouse and really did the job. Here we are letting off steam and modeling the latest in the AW Spring collection (available soon in the AW online store thru the fashion dispensor...).

The Westinghouse at fixed and polished! It almost looks like a little vintage tv set. Really a neat machine.

It was the star of the show. Everyone had to stop and marvel. Here's John telling us how the Westinghouse handles suds. He later had a little assistance with the suds...
