The Cruze won

I quit screwing around and bought a Cruze LTZ RS. I had to give up the heated steering wheel, power adj pedals and power passenger seat, that the Cadillac had. In return I got, Telescoping steering wheel, Automatic air quality sensor, cool radio, better nav system, 30 mpg and all four tires are the same size. Acceleration is pretty quick, ride is better than expected and cabin is fairly quiet. So far no problems. I got every option except spare tire(!)
Made the same trip as we did in the Cadillac with the two dogs and luggage and all went well. So I'm happy so far.

The Cruze is reported to be a good car. The only knock I've heard is from a friend who is 6'3". He said the Cruze didn't have quite enough room for him, so he purchased a larger Malibu instead. Otherwise, he liked the Cruze a lot.

My brother is looking at getting the cruze. He already has a dodge challenger but wants something a little better for the winter. We test drove it. Is a fantastic car indeed. I am one who does not like chevy so that's a real honest statement. The only chevys I would ever consider new are their corvettes and the cruze.

Anybody remember how the anti-Obama rightwingnuts were going all out two years about about GM being "Government Motors" and circulating cartoons of an ungainly slapped together vehicle they claimed would be the result?

Well, the Chevy Cruze, along with other models, gives the lie to that claim. It was Car of the Year in Canada, and has received generally glowing automotive reviews. No, it's not a sports car, but it does seem to be well made, well designed, and comfortable, safe, and reliable transportation.

My only gripe about it so far is that Europe and Asia are getting the five door hatch version, while GM steadfastly refuses to sell it here. Maybe that will change, though.

Interesting, General Motors Holden in Australia have had a lot to do with the Cruze design and now manufacture it in Adelaide for our market.

 

The hatch is to be a key component of this (though a compact estate/wagon would have been better)....I was under the impression that the Hatch was being designed here actually...

I thought about holding out in hopes of a 5dr/hatch which the Focus offered. I too can't understand why GM is not going with it in the US. The HHR was a handy little vehicle and a Cruze wagon would be even better.
