That Allero certainly seems to have a well thought out dash. Everything located within easy reach of the driver. Dashboards sure have changed over the years. The one in my 65' Buick stretches on for days. And because the optional inside-controlled passenger side-view mirror is cable controlled and not electronic, you have to reach way over to the lever to adjust it.

As far as dashboard lights, the nicest I ever had was in my early 80's Riviera. The entire dash had lights along the top from one end to the other. It had a comforting soft glow at night which added to the car's luxurious interior.

both those Buicks ...

...have really nice dashes :) Is that a Delco Bose in that Riv ?-that is a really good radio as long as the solder joints are intact-I have about the same radio in my z28,hooked to custom amplified system.

Keyless Startvand Go:

I dislike the idea of driving with my keys in my pocket, I need a place to out them...

A rented Nissan had some slot to stick the fob it, and it seemed its push button start wouldn’t go on without it there...

So, I resign myself to using the console or at least the cup holder to out my key or keys into, just have to remember it/they’re there...

If you have hard time seeing your instrument panel when your lights are on during the day in the rain or when it’s not quite dark out but need them in on or they just incidentally go on, just turn the dimmer switch up to the highest setting—that’s what I did, do I can see every part of my panel clearly and don’t need a head’s up display…

As for night driving, use the same knob or lever to dim the panel back to your liking as bd readability…

Last week,

I backed out of the garage in broad daylight and the display was out. I don't recall if the headlights had been on from a previous drive. I turned them on and off, and still out. A half block down the street it lit up. Weird. Also the wipers act weird when the lights are on in the rain. They come on automaticlly, or if I put them on delay, they speed up when I do, or it rains harder, but usually only a couple wipes.
If it's raining very hard, they do stay on.

'17 dodge dash lights...

...a 3 watt hooded light bulb lighting just the speedo, leaving the oil gauge and ammeter unlit-that is how it was 105 years ago :) Headlamps are 21 watts each -I do drive the car some at night around town :)
