Hi Guys,

Just received some new literatue/information - the Servis line-up for 1969/70 - this pamphlet shows the revised All-Fabric Automatic with the new revised console. I haven't seen many pictures of this machine as its production i believe was quite short lived before Servis introduced their last top loader the MK55.

Is the agitator on the left for woolens and the one on the right for everything else?

Hi Tom,

Glad you liked it. It is a very rare machine, and none are known to have been found in the UK yet.

Yep the agi on the left is for delicates and the one on the right is for robust everyday fabrics, the unique element which switches the agi from delicate to normal is the slip on booster, this is the middle part of the agi with the slits in it.
I have trimmed some other pics to show the agi better.

Hi Keith, come on we want all of it haha....Paul has done some great detective work through sifting out and scanning all those catalogues....now is this model the first or the second?

Was the MK41H with the switches the first one (1966)and this one is the revised one (1968) before the Black pannelled last version the MK55 in 1970?

Enquiring minds need to know!!

Very rare indeed...

These Servis automatics, known as 'Wilkins Servis' here in Australia are very rare indeed with the deHavilland gearbox.

Luckily, i have 2 of them and a contact has a couple of spare control panels for these machines, which i'll be getting one day.

Leon, cant believe I missed that thread and didnt comment, I saw your pics from email and again a beautiful looking machine, and slightly different agi with the dosing cap. the last Servis model had a pull out soap dispenser box and a filter flow system at the 11 o`clock position, I remember seeing it at my great aunts house...

Want all of what...the leaflet ? it only has all the other machines we all know about like the supertwin mk3, rinspin's etc...I think this is the 2nd model of the MK41, I thought the 1st one had the two rocker switches (my fav model) and this was the revised model, then came the last model MK55, completely different in design. I really wish one of us could find one of the 3 models !!

You are so lucky to have got hold of two of these machines...there must be a few still kicking around here in the UK. I have a mate who said he worked on a few and he said they were a nightmare all pulley's & belts and springs..LOL - in that posting you said the owner still had the original instruction manual, I wonder if Servis used the same one as here with a few refinements.

Here is something strange: the early Blackstone washer was a one speed machine, but they had a big red plastic skirt that slipped down over the center shaft of the agitator that reduced the fin size to make the agitation more gentle. I bought one years ago, along with several washers, dryers and tons of parts for the Beltsville collection from AW ORG member Blackstone whose father sold the machines in Western MA for decades. The treasure horde totally filled up the back of John's van when he brought it back. And with this machine, the booster slipped over the agitator to make it more vigorous. Pretty neat.

Funnily enough, i was just speaking to my Wilkins Servis contact yesterday and advised him i'll be getting the Mark 72 set up in the new year. We ended up chatting about these machines and that yes....they were difficult to work on, but apparently his father came up with a simplified seal design and tried to sell it to Wilkins Servis here in Australia, but they weren't interested and went with the Maytag cloned machines instead.
