Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Jim ... That's the rinse temperature control.

Automatic setting is if you have the wash temperature set on either hot or warm, you will get a warm rinse. If your wash temperature is set on cold, you will get a cold rinse.

The Cold setting will always give you a cold rinse.

Was the rinse water cold for the warm wash, Steve?

The instruction book for this machine tells you to use warm wash and cold rinse for wash 'n wear fabrics.

This is the thermostatically controlled one; warm water is 100 degrees, plus or minus 5 degrees.

Thanks Geoff. I saw one in the window of our local Maytag dealer, but couldn't tell what it was and they were closed at the time.

Yes actually, on momma's A206, it was. :-)

I remember this because my aunt had an RCA Whirlpool that offered a default warm rinse with the warm wash. (Oval brush recirculating filter); mid 60's

It made an impression on me that they differed.
