Only posting to remind anyone, sometimes, free can be ...very good. I didn't see anything interesting to post for washers and dryers.

Thanks for adding to the thread, Louie. I've never picked up anything free, yet as some of the members/readers; be sure to stay away from bad areas unless Batman assists you.

Hitachi 19 inch Multi-System Color TV (Sterling)

ad: " This is not a flat-screen TV, it has a CRT tube. It supports NTSC (3.58). NTSC (4.43), PAL and SECAM. Ideal for viewing foreign video tapes and DVDs. Works on 110V, 127V, 220V or 240V, 50/60Hz current. This is a working TV. Operating guide included.

This is a fairly heavy TV, so you might want to bring a friend to help you carry it. I have a bad back and cannot help. "

OMG - for scrap???  Looks to be in beautiful condition, no glaring chips in the porcelain.  And, it's a 1957, not a 1958.  GE only used the brushed chrome panel for the one year (1957).

Even if it didn't work it would be a great piece to part out - not crush.

Sick. Scrap? There are people with zilch appreciation for these pieces- or enough appreciation to hang tough and wait for someone to take it. But I realise, I[m not the owner and everything is in their court. Sad, hope it doesn't go to the scrapper;it's way wrong and stupid ...to scrap this 1957 beauty.
