I can't believe it! THIS is the Frigidaire electric range that was in our kitchen from as far back as I can remember until October of 1974 when it got replaced with a Harvest Gold Baycrest (Westinghouse) range. God forbid that it would be thrown out, though. Two burners were not working and the oven thermostat was 50 degrees off but as my father said 'Vat? You thinking ve rich millionaires or sumsing? Better we keep this in case we needing one day!' His prophesy came true and the stove was brought back into service in 1978 when our country house in the Eastern Townships was robbed (and they literally stole the cabinets off the wall!). By then, I had developed a few repair skills and replaced a few bad connections to the two messed-up burners and the ol' Frigidaire was back in its glory. Ok, the oven was still 50 degrees off...
The stove was lost in 1992 when the house in the Townships burnt down.
(It didn't cause the house fire, BTW...)
Forgive the rambling, but what memories that range brought back!![this post was last edited: 6/4/2012-21:02]
