The Frigidaire Rapidry 1000 is back again!!!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I think the Whirlpool is a washer. The timer on the washers are on the right side and the timers on the dryers are on the left.(when you are facing the machine).

Norfolk, from my experience with 1/18s, even when new, the slowing down during spray rinse was pretty normal, especially if you had used a high-sudsing detergent.

Now, as for the filtrator, dare ain't nuttin quite like a load of towels being put in a filtrator after being washed in a Frigidaire washer with a 1010+ rpm spin.

Very nice machines. I've not seen a 1-18 with that interesting emblem on the front. Must have been a limited edition. ;-)

The turquoise is a '65, the other a '68, correct?

Sweet Joe, I'm glad you were able to work through this project. Congrats on having this one up and running!

BTW - very nice turquoise Rollermatic. Was the DV-65 the Filtrator that Hans found recently?

Re:

NorfolkSouthern: Mine slows down just a tiny bit during spin spray, but it's barely noticable, if it's significant on yours, I'd clean the rollers first off and check the belt tension (1" deflection) If there is a way to tighten them someone who knows more than I do will have to chime in one that. I've never worked on the 1-18. Matter of fact, from the looks of mine I don't think it's ever been worked on except the timer motor.

Now about that emblem on the 1-18. I wondered if that would get any remarks. There's nothing original or "limited edtion" about it. I bought that off ebay, one day I held it up to the 1-18 and it looked so nice there that I just decided to put it on. I don't even know what it came off of, but it appears to be something from the 50's. I felt that it may be inappropriate, but it is my machine and I decided that I was blending "vintage" with "really vintage".

Now to end the wonders about the Whirlpool. That is a DD, dual action, WhirlShred. It's not worth a damn compared to the Frigidaire's. I use it to wash underclothes and dog towels in. Pretty soon, it's coming out and another little goodie is going in it's place, but more on that later...

The Filtrator, yep it's the one Hans found. It's in pretty good shape too, just a little cleaning, dust removal, and a new cord, after that we'll see if she runs.

Im so glad you got the dryer, I feel like it went to a good home, that washer is almost like the one we got when I was4, it was bought in69 and looked the same except was not a rapid dry . Hans

congrats on getting your's

back together! i'm sure you must feel really elated, i know you were worried there for a minute!

i also see from your pics that the two rollermatics you have are the same as two of mine, exactly. your blue one in the center is the model i picked up from matt (everythingold) and the one on the right is the model i picked up a couple weeks ago from a friend in buffalo.

there are great machines!

Guys

Thank you for your kind compliments, they mean alot to me. It really is a labor of love to make these machines look nice and function properly again.

I'm going to tell everyone who has one of these solid tubs. If you have not sealed your tub plug and you have a good relatively vibration free machine, get that plug sealed immediately.
It will save you hard work and trying to locate a replacement tub.
