$5.5 Mill for that!
If I remember correctly they paid $1 Mill for it and dumped another Mill into making this fantasy Brady thing. Basically doing a total gut job and adding an awkward addition out the back.
One might have assumed that this house mirrors that of a entire neighborhood of similar age and style of homes.
You would have assumed incorrectly. It's kind of an odd ball home on an in-fill lot that is literally on the L.A. river (cemented drainage ditch).
Diagonal there is a quaint 1930s/40s ranch house. Two doors down there is what looks like an original settlers house, still intact with the brick fireplace. On one side the building looks like the neighborhood well or sewer pumping station. On the other side of the house is a rather small, non-descript two story that looks like a 1970s HUD house and not well kept. The house across the street looks like it's had work done.
Just on the other side of the river is a large shopping mall/area so you'll have all the lights and noise that goes along with that in your back yard.
It's not a gated community and there is no fence around the house ....anymore. There was one before the remodel.
Is this really worth spending $5.5 mill on? You'd really have to have been a fan. I have to wonder how many of the younger generation knows the Brady Bunch. That's probably why they are trying to off load it now.
This isn't really a Babyboomer thing. It was more of a Gen-X related show.
It will be interesting to see how long it sits.
