Lid pushing in the control knob

Guys, I think this harkens back to the days when many 'Tags had the little idiot light over the timer that was kind of like a pointer for the dial.  When the lid would be closed after the tub had been given time to dry out, the lid would be closed and that little light would still be glowinng.  In one sense that as a nice way to remind the user that a load needed to be taken out and dried.  But afterwards, it was pointless and annoying.  So, with the lit kicking in the knob used to turn the dial, then the idiot light would go on when the lid would be closed again.  I cannot tell you how many times I saw that little light glowing for no reason inbetween wash days.

Beautiful set you've got there! You'd be surprised of the beautiful, shinny, white porcelain hiding under the iron staining. Someday if you decide to get adventurous, pull the tub and start going to town with some Lime Away gel.

Let it soak for an hour or so and wipe away. Rinse, and repeat till all the staining is gone.

Thanks for that explanation, and I do see now that even with the panel update the lid would still hit the timer knob.

I've only used a machine from this series once or twice and it's been a long time.

Thanks everyone for the comments! I got the washer hooked up now. I will get a video of it sometime this week. The tub has been restored, but there still is an slight orange tinge to it in some places, so I am going to try the Lime-Away Gel suggestion.
