He also believes there are dryers that weigh the load to determine dryness (I found the video John mentioned above).

There are photos of a Consumer testing magazine with a dryer on a scale so that they could determine the minute the load weighed the same as it did when dry at the start of the process. Maybe that's what he's stinking about.

When I worked at Whirlpool decades ago, they had a clothes dryer suspended from a Spring Scale to do exactly what Tomturbomatic states above.
If The Laundry Guy has his dryer hanging from a spring scale, I'd subscribe to Discovery+, otherwise I'll pass.
