The Magnetic Stove Shelf

Got an eMail from DealWiki omthis, in which its link directs me to ordering from Amazon...

Supposedly if your stove top is a magnetic metal, which a good percentage of them are, then this can solve kitchen storage problems allowing seasonings, spices, and other types of cooking ingredients to be kept...

There is a backing behind tomkeep items from falling behind your ranges, but I would figure it would make sense to have a front guard on it, so nothing tumbles over forward on top of your stove...

Anyone else hear of, know about, might be actually getting or actually have?

Seems that location exposes the items to heat (and moisture depending on the type of container) which accelerates deterioration of the products.

Also anything that’s on this shelf is gonna get covered with cooking grease and oils and be a mess to keep clean. I agree with Glenn about the exposure to heat causing herbs and spices to possible become stale faster.

Well what seemingly didn't get mentioned is the clearance between the top of a range back-guard and the typical over the range microwave causing a severe lack of, you can see none of those pictures showing...

Surely I'm not challenging that on top of my stove given how some spice jars might be a might too tall to,out there or possibly a salt and/or pepper shaker/s...
