Kitties can be evil , mischevious and have teeth!
Let one in and they rule your life. LOL If they are not trained well from a very young age you are sunk!

I found the best way to train a kitten not to bite is not to play with it to the point at which it gets excited enough to start biting and rabbit-kicking at one's hands. As soon as the play gets to that point, I remove my hand and the play is over. I'll use a stuffed toy or some other object to let them sink their teeth and claws into. They are smart animals and they get the idea pretty quick.

It's a bit harder to break them of the habit of kneading one's flesh in pleasure as they are being given attention. But I find that if I give a little yelp as soon as the claws get too deep, they also figure that part out pretty quick. They are well aware of the position of their claws.

I had read that one sticks their finger in the cat's mouth as soon as it bites. They hate that and learn quick too.

The other traning device/methoid that is "needed" is a coffee can partially filled wtih coins or screws/nails. Shake the hell out if it and yell NO!!! as they are doing something naughty.

Kneading the flesh is what they do to their mommas to stimulate milk, so I always saw it as a sign of attachment/love/afection.

My little Sputnik died in November at the ripe-ish age of 16. I've been tempted to get another cat, but then I think of all the hassles- especially the litter box.

But watching that video... It sure would be fun to have a little kitten around the house. It would have to be a kitten, because an adult cat would surely have issues with the dogs.

I had a cat that used to like to suckle on the buttons on my shirt... lol... I don't mind the kneading until the claws start to draw blood (my big outdoor cat can really dig those claws in when purring, so when it gets to that point I try to discourage it. Usually a little yelp on my part makes him stop clawing without getting spooked).

Cats, like most beings, generally respond best to positive reinforcement.

And then there are these cats...

Bro and Sis (Guido and Dawg). Got them from the same litter when they were BARELY 8 weeks old. For the most part, excellent housemates - his big thing is sounding the alarm when the food is "low" in the bowl - not empty, just low. He is also quite partial to spaghetti and most whatever I am cooking (He only occasionally gets a small taste).

They will be 9 years old in April - I keep telling the vet that 9 is the new 6!
