Just up this morning on the Productstat Blog is a review on Stand/Mixmaster style Turntable Mixers from 1963. I think most of us here will like how the ratings went, I agree with much of it as we have most of these mixers reported on.

I have 100's of more articles to add to the Product Stat Blog and I will be trying to add new articles daily to the site for a while. If there is an article you like and you are a Facebook user, please click the like button at the bottom of the article. Clicking the like button on any article you enjoy will help me greatly in determining what types of articles everyone likes so I can concentrate more on that type of subject matter.

Thanks everyone, I hope everyone enjoys the Mixer Review!

Interesting....

That the testing organization (who was it, BTW?) chose to pit Dormeyer's second-tier Mixwell mixer against Sunbeam's TOL Mixmaster. Dormeyer's Silver Chef would have been the more direct comparison.

However, the Mixwell seems to have acquitted itself pretty darn well against the Sunbeam model. And IMHO, Dormeyer was always the better value - you got a major accessory like the grinder or juicer with the mixer at no extra cost. Sunbeam charged for everything, including the power take-off unit that Dormeyers didn't even need.

Sandy, I was also wondering why they didn't compare the Power or Silver Chef with the Mixmaster. It would have been easy to at least select mixers from the same price range.

I enjoyed reading anyway and I also liked the review of the Ronson CanDo. I have two of these that I like mainly for their look but I think they do a decent job at opening cans! I have one that's probably newer (or older?) as it has a straight power cord and it has less accessories that are mounted on a plastic rack instead of a wooden rack. The box sais it's supposed to mash potatoes but I can't see how! I tried and didn't succeed. I have read the instructions after and I don't remember exactly what they say but I came to the conclusion that they meant it could mix instant potatoes. I still haven't tried that!

And Robert,

I'm anxious to see what else you will post this week!

I open the page a few times a day to see what's new!

You certainly know how to generate interest!

:-)

I Doubt that

Maybe General Mills made a generous donation?? but I'd recognize that "red spoon" logo anywhere!
Both Consumer Reports and Consumer Bulletin had constantly announced that they do not except donations of any sort, neither products or monetary, so I doubt either would have risked the bad publicity. I suspect it was probably an oversight or they wanted to show what they were using to test.

Glad you are enjoying it Phil. I have some really, really fun things to post over time.

I couldn't sleep so I had to look at what's new on your Product Stat website and there it was!

And I did notice the link for the download on Ephemera! Thanks!

Now that I have read it, I'll try to go back to sleep! I'll probably dream about a 1957 Imperial Cycla-Matic refrigerator and a Custom Imperial range... LOL
