Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Spin Spray Rinsing

I would like to see a short video of the spin-spray rinsing system. That is the rinsing default if softener is not used.

wow i like this washer alot .... i i prefer the dual action though only cuz on large loads the roll over sucks ... whirlpool should go back to the old single vain agitators like this below. nice spin nice wash action with the long stroke whirlpool has outdone themselves i like the wash plate idea but only on a fisher and paykel washer their wash plate design really moves clothes unlike that shit in the new wp

i love this washer there are 2 things i dont like why whirlpool used the small lid instead of the wide one and they should have used the normal 5 water levels (extra small small medium large and supper) other than that perfect washer. i like the new agitator at the end though with the blue looks cool.

i think you should buy ah fisher and paykel wash plate for you cabrio and see what it does

hey is it possible to get a picture of the drive system and possibly a full cycle ?? when ever you have time i think ill buy one of these when it comes to Trinidad it takes 4 ever for new stuff to come here but lucky us we dont have cabrios here yet only normal top loaders :D

nah i like direct whirlpool they just look better and the new Kenmore wrk different to wp now where cycles are concerned but is the bottom of the washer covered with ah plate or not ? those who wanna see the mechanism check this pic out its the same more and drive system just on a wash plate and i guess the tub does the same free floating ting off the drive shaft so it does not spin unless the water is drained or sum-thing this gonna cost alot when it reaches here sigh but gr8 and the belt is small to so it should last i theory

The new belt-driven mechanical design is being produced in both deep-fill agitator models and HE/low-water impeller models. Agitator models have the same dual-action agitator (or Triple-Action in case of some Kenmores) as direct-drive machines. The basket does not float far as I'm aware. The floating-basket design is the "original" Oasis/Cabrio/Bravos which is based on Fisher & Paykel.

well the original f&p design was better in my opinion but wp got f&p technology used it for a while and then made a ripoff n left f&p if the tub does not float then i gess the tub uses ah shifting mechanism to activate / deactivate idk all i kwn is i like this washers design n they way it washes now to think of it the short stoke should be put in the middle of the wash process too
like short 5 min long 10 min short another 5 min and then long again with a final short stroke drain then spin but this is protype in a way i feel they will make more like these after testing this one in public i feel there will be a 4.0 cuft model and another model with load sensing but it will retain the agitator

1 wash or 2?

Does this washer have 2 wash speeds or 1? I'm thinking of getting the Kenmore version of this, but definetly need at least 2 speed. Our 3 speed '96 KM 90 series DD is still working/looking good, but the spin vibration seems to be getting worse. It's on our main floor here as opposed to the concrete basement of our old house & has never been smooth here, just feels more vibes recently. Plus,I want a new toy!

WP-Dude22,

Whirlpool is still using the F&P SmartDrive design for the higher-end Cabrio & Bravos models, at least for now. You can look up parts diagrams by model number at either Whirlpool.com under the Owner Center / Manuals & Literature or at SearsPartsDirect.com to see which machines use which mechanical design.

@ DADoes ok kool would like to see the parts list / schematic for this machine though ..... i still feel whirlpool will make a higher end agitator model more like ge's own with the load sen sensing nab @spinmon i think the washer is 2 speed it does 400 rpm for low speed spin and 700 for high speed idk if agitation has 2 speeds since the long stroke already has agitation slower than in direct drive models and its more gentle so agitation might just be one speed

Pulsator,

Congrats on your new Whirlpool! I've seen this in the stores and am curious about the second rinse with fabric softener selection. Pardon my ignorance, but will this machine actually add sofener to the second rinse automatically?

Second rinse with softener selection

I explain the rinse sequences in post # 483444 of this thread. The second rinse with softener does NOT do 2 deep rinses. It does one deep rinse with softener followed by a series pf spray rinses.

Those are my temp readings, keep in mind that I have my cold water tempered up to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. The normal cold water here is about 45 degrees F at the moment. I don't wash anything in cold, the lowest I'm willing to go for wash or rinse is 85F.

hmmmn hey can we see more videos please with the new agitator and probably a full cyclewith a full load ????

btw new variants of this washer are coming check the whirlpool digital library there is a wide lid version and an auto load sensing with the agitator coming as well and both feature super wash i guess whirlpool is replacing the tire direct drive line up with these belt driven ones kinda nice .......... i just wish now whirlpool would make a top loading dryer off the F&P design like how the make the high end cabrios with the F&P motor.

this is not the right thread but does any one know how well F&P smart load dryers work ? cuz i really like them only thing i would rather 7.0cuft of space .

this is not the right thread but does any one know how well F&P smart load dryers work ? cuz i really like them only thing i would rather 7.0cuft of space.
Very well, based on 6+ years of using my DEGX1. I've not found the "small" 6.5 cu. ft. size to be a problem. Love the 24-hr wrinkle guard function.

I've actually used Glenn's F&P dryer. Despite the numerical statistics of the stated drum volume/capacity, I never felt the "smallness". It performs as good, if not better, than the largest Whirlpool. And the auto reverse tumbling assures there's no tangling of shirts, pants, sheets.

F&P dryer

hmmmn thats cool we dont get those brands in the Caribbean i think whirlpool should lease n use the top load dryer technology n make it 7.o or 7.2cuft but ill just import a F&P set if i like ill start selling them small scale
