my thoughts exactly, cleanteam. what could this formula possibly offer, sizing? btw, i bought my first bottle of Cheer for darks (with gift certificate) and im in the process of deciding what i think...
 
I think it's the "touch of softness" that's the draw...

In essence, this is Cheer with fabric softener, and a much more subtle fragrance than P&G's other liquid-with-softener offerings.
 
i ve thought of a *thanks to AW.org* thread, since theres a small handlfull of laundry products i would have NEVER bought if it wasnt for this site! i bought Tide for the FIRST TIME in my life due to what ive read here. same with the Lever 2000 soap (loved it, Eugene), and Suavitel. i was devoted to Purex and unscented formulas. hate to admit that the Tide does seem better! a friend and i sampled the Tide with Downy at the store and both of us thought it smelled horrible! im not crazy about the Cheer-dark scent, but the gift certificate WAS a gift...
 
Actually, if it weren't for this site and another one, I wouldn't have decided to go back to using hot and warm water for certain types of loads.

I know a lot of people don't like Purex Free and Clear anymore, since they reformulated it.
 
Thanks to absent-minded customers at the laundromat, I have been using Cheer For Darks for a while now and it seems to do a pretty good job. Now, I have been noticing CFD disappearing from grocery shelves. Is Cheer True Fit a replacement or an addition to the product line?
 
I also question how a detergent can figure into the sizing of a washed item. Water temp and washing actions seem far more important in that area.

However, I do love the scent of this Cheer.

I also use Cheer for Darks and find it cleans better than Woolite for Darks.

Yay for Lever 2000! It's the bath bar I've used since it was introduced.

I have switched back from Clorox Complete (or is it Ultimate?) to regular ol' liquid
chlorine bleach---not because I did didn't like the results with Clorox Complete, but because I use LCB for its disinfecting properties, which the diluted Clorox Complete doesn't do.

I tried washing whites in hot water with Tide w/ Bleach and actually switched back to temp-controlled cold and Tide ColdWater. I get better results, as counterintuitve as that seems...
 
Wow! I was just surfing around the Cheer website and I am amazed at the completeness of the product line! Especially the powders! From the grocery store shelves around here, you'd think P&G was trying to kill of the brand.

I use the "dregs" of liquid detergent in the mop water at my laundromats. Cheer is really poor for cleaning floors; that's why I was surprised that the CFD works so good.
 
Peter, out of curiosity, what works well on the floors?

I ask, because years ago, Tide and Dash powders actually had directions to use it to wash the floors with (and I frequently did!)
 
We only use liquids on the floors. Tide and Gain do a good job, but I personally like Sun, Purex, Xtra and Arm & Hammer. Seems like the less expensive the detergent, the better it does on the floors.

Cheer is second only to Era for horrible floor cleaning. Any detergent with added fabric softener is also horrible.
 
I've found this Cheer is excellent on sweaters (I hate washing them out by hand, no need in this day and age)...
 
This new Cheer is the only liquid detergent with a seal on the cap that I have seen. I was in Wal Mart the other day and wanted to see what it smelled like, but the lid qas sealed like an Orange juice container. What does it smell like?
 
On my two bottles anyway, it's not a seal, just a cellophane strip around the cap with yet more programming on it....I thought it smelled great when I first tried it, more soft and powdery than refreshing and pungent...what I have noticed is that it really does linger on the clothes after they are dried, more so than other liquids with built-in softeners. I like it, but am not confident that it has a lot of stain-removing power, which is probably inherent in these combination products (my much-lamented Solo liquid was the same way).

I'd say that it's not "Cool Water", "Eternity For Men", or even Jean-Paul Gaultier, but if you are repelled by "Tide with Downy"'s or "Gain With A Touch Of Softness"'s flowery fragrances, there's a shot this might be a little more pleasing.

For what it's worth, I think of this as my new "Woolite" (always hated that stuff!)
 
Man this stuff is great!
I washed a old V-neck cotton jacket vest that wrinkles bad when washed and dried and it came out it looked like I pressed it with a iron! This is no lie, the hand of my clothes feels better that being rinsed with Downey and regular detergent.

I think we better stock up on this before they decide to take it off the market in the future.........
 
Yeah, it saves a lot of work and doesn't seem to build up over washings, like many of these types of products can.

I think it's a winner too (like you said, watch them discontinue it now!)
 
They are sure pouring alot of money into marketing this new Cheer...

I was at a local mall for lunch yesterday (Perimeter Mall), and there are table tents and banners up in the food court saying something about the Cheer True Fit Mall tour here November 17-21. They will have "experts" here to do body scans on you and then tell you which stores to shop in for the best clothes for your body type. They will also have clothing care experts there.
