...and it arrived sooner then expected too! When I put the deposit on it they said it should be on the 20th or 22nd, so I was surprised when they called yesterday saying "we can deliver it tomorrow".

Here it is: Samsung, French door, bottom freezer, 26 cu. ft. with ice and water in the door!

I guess I need to do a little better job cleaning the smudges off (oops).
(Kinda cool you can see the trees out the window behind me too!)

The interior

I like the features, drawers, shelves, etc. It's got some blue tinted lights (that look like LED's) which "dim" on when you open the door. The wide "Pantry drawer" at the bottom has a 3 position electronic temp control which keeps that drawer at 34, 38 or 41 degrees. The little half shelf next to the ice maker fold up to accommodate tall items, and the front half of the middle shelf on the right slides back under the rest if the shelf, also to accommodate tall items.

The freezer...

To open: you pull UP on the handle. Doing so pushes the drawer out slightly to "break the grip" of the magnetic seals, making it much easier to open.

Another nice feature is, when you pull out the drawer it also pulls out the upper freezer drawer so you don't have to reach in so far to pull it.

The controls...

... are on the outside of the door above the water & ice dispenser. It's nice that you set the actual temperature for the fridge and freezer, not just a "random number". The default temps are -2 for the freezer and 38 for the fridge.

Another neat feature is the "power cool" and "power freeze" for the fridge and freezer. This is for when a door gets left open for a long period of time, OR you just put a lot of "something" that needs to be cooled quickly for what ever the reason. This "power" option lowers the temp of either the fridge or freezer section (or both) by 5 degrees or so for 2 1/2 hours. I think that's a pretty cool (no pun intended) feature!

VERY NICE! Enjoy it in good health (yours and the unit's)!

Whatever happened to 0*F and 40*F as recommended temps? One wonders if "they" are "translating" metric temps...........

Still amazing that something so bulky can be shipped "halfway" around the world and still be sold at a lesser (Or competing) price to the consumer than a locally/domestically made unit.

french doors---

are nice but I hate the water and ice on the door.My Dad had the K'aid from the late 70's early 80's that had the porcelain walls and the french doors.Every few years, the door seals would tare making them need to be replaced. It got too costly for him to keep replacing them so, he went and replaced it with one that had the faucet instead just before he died. The water in the door just makes it cost more to run and can cause oxidation if not fully maintained daily. My preference is the wall mount water faucet inside with the ice maker in the freezer. You still get the water filter to filter all the incoming water but less maintainance.Keeps the kids from playing with the buttons too.

Very nice unit

That is a really nice looking unit Kevin, looks quite practical inside and very cool(no pun intended!.) on the outside, congratulations, like yourself we too recently purchased a new fridge freezer, if you like I have posted pictures on thread no#26447.
Samsung don't have a model like that here in Oz, I believe the closest would be a 519 litre Fisher and Paykel.
Cheers, and enjoy your new fridge.

Kevin.. very nice glossy shine !
I thank you can use that Power freeze & power cool too, for when you come back with groceries for flash freezing and beverages.
Good for you and what a steal on the price.
Enjoy.
